Is this as good as it seems? EU roaming included.

Down in Croatia whilst at Senj was getting about 6mbs on phone and 16mbs on firestick. Now at Dubrovnik and getting 6mbs on phone and 8mbs on firestick (low) It’s varied speeds but no issues with buffering streaming firestick or phone Wi-Fi so far. Was hoping to stop at Lake Blade in Slovenia but weather was dreadful so kept driving in rain. Going to have a slow bimble back up the Croatian coast into Italian Lakes then into Switzerland over next month or so, so if no one’s updated from Switzerland or Italy I’ll put something on. I think Croatia is ticked off as being OK along with France (Strasbourg side) Austria (Hallstatt/Salzburg) Germany (Black Forest /Lake Titisee/ Fussen) Luxembourg City, Belgium (Ypres.)
 
I contacted RWG with this question but they have not got back to me so I'll ask the knowledgeable on here.

I have a RWG SIM but just the Teaser plus. Thought I'd try it out before needing big data abroad. If I wanted to upgrade my bundle can I do this at anytime and will it come online immediately? How does it toe into my current bill date?

The allowance starts on 1st of each month , I payed on 20th but allowance still starts on 1st, I suppose they just give allowance free till the 1st.

We cancelled our subscription on 18th before our renewal date 20th, we then subscribed to a different lower plan on the 18th. Existing plan ran ok till 20th and was renewed with the new plan at the same time.

So I think changes take place on renewal dates not immediately and can be done at any time.
 
OK - RWG finally got back to me on this.

You can add or change bundles at any time and they will be added immediately for you.

Not sure that totally answers my question! Yes it happens immediately but does the billing date then change? Because, effectively you are using a more expensive deal in the middle of your month.
 
Does anyone know if the global sim is an extra £10 per month or just an extra £10 for the sim. I think I might get the £4 a month data only sim but up it to the 100g or 200g when we are away in the van.

As far as i read it you can change to any bundle once you have the sim. I have the teaser plus (£3.50) with the plan to change the bundle when I go on a trip. As far as I can see you can just choose the 100GB or 200GB bundle when you want and it will be assigned to that sim. When you order your change you have an option to put the telephone number of your present sim on rather than ordering a new one.

Currently in Cais do Bico by a lagoon nr Murtosa Portugal. Quite remote but getting 8mps. Lovely Aire no services but worth a visit.

Even stranger - I'm looking at the rates and plans now and cannot see the global sim!
 
Presently in Millau , France. Speedcheck reporting 26mbps on my phone and all the stats look good for streaming etc but on laptop it won't stream . In bbc iplayer tells me not enough bandwith and picture freezes. I ran a test on laptop and that only gives me 1mbps.

I have thé global SIM but can’t get online 😞

Customer service were nice and quick when I was enquiring before buying, but not so sharp now….

I have it in a new Mifi unit (TP link 7350), it’s connecting wifi and network etc all ok but no internet connection.
I’ve tried the APN as suggested on the website (ion.otm) and the one from the SIM card packaging (everywhere).

Anyone see what’s going wrong pls?

If you want to use the RWG global sim, that is what needs to ordered, it's not just a case of changing the package, I already asked RWG that specific question and this was the reply:

'The Global SIM is a different physical SIM card so you would need to order a new SIM.'

Still there. Go to ‘Shop’. Select the data only options and then the 200gb monthly one. Then you have drop down options of Vodafone, EE or Global.

RWG 200gb data
 
Termoli on the Italian Adriatic coast, connected to Iliad iONLINE. 9.98mb down and 6.67mb up. TV etc. all working faultlessly and no buffering.

Once you receive the SIM you must email them with the SIM number and ask them to activate it or else it will not work

Done that too, email back yesterday confirming was activated.

Pretty hacked off with RWG now. I’m in France eating through my meagre roaming allowance with Three while this mob have had my £28 and won’t even answer emails since yesterday afternoon. The MiFi unit is fine - it works with my phone sim.
 
Paul & Yvette, would you please describe the global Sim they sent you? Does it come with a mobile number? The reason I ask is that I applied for a £28 month Global SIM card and one of their free cards , which arrived this morning and they are identical and I haven't a clue which I should be using. Of course I have emailed RWG support and have not had a reply yet.
