Never Been.

Mostly because my parents went there on their honeymoon,
they went into the local bar (there was only one) and they refused to serve my mother as she was a woman.

My parents were also sunbathing on the beach.
The Cariberini came over and fined the lady on the towell next to them, as she had dared to actually wear a BIKINI !!!!!
As my mother was in a one piece swimsuit, she was tolerated.

My mother said, "never go back" so we never have (at least not since 1957).
Us Boomers had to do what we were told 😀
Saying that, my parents have only been abroad twice 😥 what a world they have missed....

My mum had only been two or three times all she did was complain about the food.

And that everyone spoke a funny language.

My parents loved Majorca as they rented a "classy" apartment from a British couple and all the neighbours were British. English food in the restaurants and brand names in the shops.

Made me wonder why they would bother going as neither of them like the sun / heat.

I've travelled more than most, much of it on business as I was in the maritime sector.
Which means it was not unusual to bump into people on the street that I knew, be that Hong Kong, Athens or New York as we travelled a great deal, and were often on first name terms with many flight crew.

My mother ended up travelling more than anyone else I know, which given the above was impressive.

On my wife's side though they also only left the country twice.

My Mom would have hated it - my Dad would have loved it. Probably why they didn't 😂

Absolutely love Benidorm!! It’s not all stag and Hen do’s….🙄
We spend 6 months of the year in La Media Lagua, it’s between Albir and Beni, the other 6 months we spend it in The Maldives and on our widebeam boat….
It’s not for everyone but there something for everyone, believe it or not it’s spains main tourist destination…more spanish there than anything else.!
But a lot of you have only seen it on TV and believe that rubbish..it’s not quite like that, remember it’s TV , it’s made for TV…you get people from all walks of life..!!

We’ve been. Heard all the negativity but as we were in that area had to see for ourselves. Overall too built up and busy for us but the old town and southern beach were lovely. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it! If you ever do find yourself in that neck of the woods visit Altea old town. Now that is beautiful.

Lived in Valencia for a couple of years as a kid, during which time we visited Benidorm for a weekend.
Love Spain. Have been back many times since, but never revisited Benidorm.

Well what can I say, Benidorm has everything you want and everything you don’t want. The old town is just great and during the day the promenade is a great people watching place. The campsite at Villa Sol is one of our favourites and has a fabulous pool. Like to spend 5 or 6 nights there each year on our 6 week jaunt as well as staying inland etc. 🚍🚍🚍
