You would never catch me on that Coronation Street either (y)
Apparently we’re on Coronation Street here at Arena Blanca Jim.

The real name of our Funster Filled road is Calle Margarita. I have renamed it Margaritaville, after the brilliant Jimmy Buffet song.

If you read the lyrics you’ll get why

At least one of us has tripped over a flip flop, broken a bone, strummed on guitar, nibbled on sponge cake, watched the sun bake, got a tattoo …. Etc etc:rofl:

Benidorm is the worst place to visit. Please don't come and join us it's already too busy with brits. It gets too warm. The food and drinks are far too cheap. The people are really too friendly .it's not what the majority of funsters want. Tapas at 8 euros, with a bottle of cheap rosado cava and a choice of 6 plates. Absolute rip off.
A beach front you could die for that's cleaned up daily .No litter and no graffitti the local council spends too much. And don't get me going on about cycle lanes they are everywhere a flaming nuisance.
Plus the extortionate cost of the local buses that run every 15 mins how dare they charge less than 1 euro for a ride out to Albir, an extortionate charge for a modern bus. 2 weekly markets that sell almost anything you need from local fresh fruit and veg to handbags and shoes for the ladies. Prices are far too low so there must be something wrong.
And parking. They don't charge you and there lots of car parks close to the centre. Really inconvenient..
Benidorm? Just stay away and leave it for the folks that enjoy it.
You've described all the reasons we do stay away lol . You forgot full English breakfasts and bars full of drunk brits making an arse of themselves 😁

Really Beni is for people that want some fun and social events not miserable lonely soles. Just don't come of you don't like Beni but don't knock it for those that do.(y)

The key part of my statement was that some of the comments were snobbery and classist. And some are.
Maybe a chill pill required - no elitism I can see just a prejudice response by some maybe that disagree.

There are more Dutch and Germans than there are Brits, especially at this time of year.

Possibly for the same reason the Dutch, Germans, and Belgians do the same for 180 x days. 🤷‍♂️

Cheers,

Jock. :)
Just priced it up for February £80 a night to park :Eeek:

I'm sorry to hear this, you dont half have bad luck on your travels
Only recently,,, since i retired have I had a spate of issues ironicly , I have spent 40 years working all over the world in dangerous and adventurous places and never had any real problems , Dengue once in Thailand , The bends once diving for work off malaysia , some near misses in war zones in Africa and storms at sea , when I was young i was stabbed twice in Brighton and Hove ha ha and nearly beaten to death in Central london during a robbery so England might be the worst place ... At least in Latin America and Africa I was armed and could shoot back , not a scratch in those places

My Daughter then aged 22 enjoyed Benidorm for the spas, beaches and some restaurants but she was not impressed by the nightlife at all ,,, i found a few amusing bars and bands , when I was able to get out of the toilet ha ha

I don't know where you are looking at Bill, but in-between Christmas and Easter, pitches can be easily found from around €17pn upwards, depending on location and services provided.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

We are booked in La Torreta for 3 nights in March for 90€.
Probably the Easter period which is popular with the Spanish. Most sites put up prices for the fiesta periods and more so for short stopovers.

I went with a boyfriend in 1971 - it was April i think and the season hadn't started, the place was deserted Not impressed and never went back. Wouldn't fancy it now after seeing what all those Funsters get up to there Also having seen it from the van as we drove down to Andalusia 2 years ago, I wouldn't want to visit!!

I collected my 20 something kids from a night out there when we were staying in a villa in the hills. It was 1am and like driving in Grand Theft Auto with big neon lights, police, taxis and random people stumbling into my path on the street. I can't say it endeared me to it.
