A cycle ride from Beni and you get to Altea…
A walk up to the church…
there were a lot of steps …
A LOT of steps …
Then a wander through the village,
Before reaching the church…
Which closed as we reached the doors!
No worries - we still have six weeks to try to gain entry again!
A cycle back to Albir and a snack of onion bahjees at the Rara cafe, before cycling home.
A girls day out in Beni Old Town tomorrow, the perfect way to spend a February day - and with it being Premium Bond Day, it could be a good ‘un!

carolyn, when are you off to Panama? Hope you have a lovely time with Claire and Alex.
I read your post that they’re looking forward to a Sunday Roast when you get there. It reminded me of our time in Liberia. The only time we got a decent Sunday Roast was when I was quick enough to spot the cow’s backside hanging on the butchers door- it meant he’d just killed a cow, and there was beef to be had!
Have a wonderful time, and don’t forget to pack the horseradish! xx

Thanks Geraldine! We’re off on Friday, we go up to Heathrow on Thursday as I don’t want to miss the early flight stuck on the bloody A303! As you can imagine I’m so excited. I’m all packed. It’s strange doing suitcase packing though for a long trip.

Can recommend Villasol. New site looks a bit bare at the moment and quite away out of everything. Just been informed that Camping La Media have a space from late February at a cost of 32€ plus 5€ electric plus 4€ for the dog per night
