Went to top up my IQ Go sim today with 100 gb of data for £20.00 to discover as of 20th September (yesterday) they have changed the conditions to a fair useage policy. 100gb in uk and only 25gb in Europe. Up until today I had had no notification of this. Am I doing something wrong or have any of you come across this. I find this a little frustrating as they were keen enough to take my annual subscription a few weeks ago.
Looks like I shall be buying a local data sim.

I bought one to in Burgos on Saturday but I don’t seem to be able to hotspot off it - is that the same for you?
Is it a digimobile SIM or some other? As I know digi allow hotspoting. Check the Apn is correct on your phone and try switching data on and off a few times.

What’s happens to your phone number when you cancel the IQ contract - do you lose it? I’m into month 1 of a 3 month contract with them. I’ve bought a Spanish SIM in Burgos and would like to cancel with IQ but I’ve had my number a long time and I’ve nowhere to transfer it to 🤷‍♂️.
When back in the UK get a free PAYG sim like Asda to transfer you number to until you sort out a new contract. You don't have to put any money on it.
Or get one sent to a friend or relatives address.

Mine seems to be working but its still showing I have used 25GB today which cant be right as I only went on line for 304- mins to check emails and a few forums. Should have been 100mb max.. I may have to message them again.
I checked mine about an hour ago and had the same issue.

Not sure if you got around to emailing them again but this is the (very quick) response I had

'The usage information is cosmetic and can be ignored.
We have had to put that in ready for bundles being added tomorrow onwards.'

I just looked and no usage but instead of 30gb it's only got 25
Will wait till it sorts out.

Sent a few emails back and forward to them. My sim usage on the portal is currently showing as 25GB used which know cant be right. At their end, its showing that I have 99GB remaining which is more like it.
They have said it will resolve itself in a few days so we should have accurate information on sim usage. So hopefully that's it sorted, just hoping when I get to 25gb roaming it doesn't stop working.

It looks like it. I can’t hotspot off mine either, I would prefer to but for €16 I’m ok with that.
I believe you can hotspot with Lebara.

Text PAC to 65075 and you will be sent a code, then once you find a deal you like, give your new network your PAC code. Your new network will transfer your number over 👍

Do I have request the PAC from my current provider before I terminate the contract with them or do they keep my number available for me in perpetuity after I cancel? Once I request the PAC, how long have I got to use it?

A PAC code lasts for 30 days if you don't use it they cancel it. You can request another one any time.
The contract ends when you give another provider the PAC code.

It’s a DigiMobil, yes. There are no settings for APN, Username and Password under the Personal Hotspot settings. Can you advise the settings I should enter?

Mine’s the same Howard although they did reply to my email saying I’d used 19GB.

Did you see post #192 above for details of how to set up hotspotting?

I have the same problem. It's showing that I have used 22gb in 48 hours, which I know is wrong. I have messaged them but they say it's correct.

Having not used mine yet (other than than a quick speed test to check connection after activating on 30th Sept), mine is now showing 75Gb allowance and -25Gb used in summary but none in graphs.

I suspect they are having trouble with the Data Usage screen since the changes introduced on 1 Oct. No doubt they are working hard to resolve so, fingers crossed, it'll be corrected soon.

We are with Popit who are affected by the same roaming changes, my 100gb allowance now shows on the app as 75 and the 55 that I had used is now showing as 30 so they have taken the new 25gb allowance off that, don't understand really so will just see how it pans out, we are in France at the moment and it's still working 🤞I suppose when it gets to 100gb used I have then used the 25gb allowance roaming, maybe it's just a fiddle till they get their app rewritten.

My IQ Data SIM is showing 177Mb used during September ( brief check to ensure working) on the bar chart but the figures beneath show I have no data left. It will be interesting to see what the response to my Email is.

Seems to be sorted now on the IQ mobile Data Usage page (albeit this doesn't show EU/roaming allowance separately anyway).

I have unlimited Text, Calls & data including Roaming on ID, all this for £12 a month, I think they charge £16 now, not sure, may even gone up to £20, All providers will only give you 63 days Roaming now, but when I signed the contract a couple of years ago it did not mention this, they were pushing how great this sim was for Roaming unlimited, last year I started getting warnings that after 63 days I would be charged on usage, I phone them and told them they would be breaking the contract and if they do charge I will sue them, and if I win can they imagine the fall back on it, they would get thousands of claims, the man said leave it with him and he would sort it, and to his word its been ok, last year was 90 days no problem same this year, check your contract, they are changing them now, but if the Ads say unlimited roaming, and no mention of fair use, go for it.

How long is your contract for? When my Vodafone one expired, they wouldnt include roaming on the new one. I moved to Lebara for less than half the cost and it has 30gb roaming included.

Two year contract, then rolling on each year, have to wait and see, it's all in the wording, fair use don't mean anything, to me buying unlimited European Roaming, means just that, so my fair use is unlimited, as I say it's in the wording, if they want to break the contract fine, I'm ok to face them in court, but they don't want that, they just let the old grumpy git get on with it.

For the first ever, we're in a spot now where I can't use my IQGo sim as it's not picking up anything at all. Never had this problem before. We're in Chambery, France. It briefly showed EE, then Orange, then nothing at all. Having to use the hotel's free wifi, which is ok as I'm not doing anything crucial. We're on the move again tomorrow, so it's no big shakes :)

Can you do a 'search for operators' on your mifi, or whatever you are using? I have an Avtex on the roof (it's very good) and occasionally it fails to pick something up, or perhaps has a very weak signal. I can interrogate it for available networks through the IP address and choose something better. There are usually 4-5 networks to choose from abroad on the IQ Go sim, and I've never failed to get a good signal even if I have to manipulate it manually.

I've no idea how to do that but it might be good to know, as we'll be off to Spain soon and if it happens again it would be great to know how to deal with it> I have a TPLink M7350 LTE. Do you know how I could search for operators, please? Thank you :)
