Is diesel cheaper in Portugal than Spain, I havnt noticed??

Not normally. Bit of a failure on part of FUN  someone should have said to fill up before going over the border.

Just to add, look for diesel at supermarkets. Cheaper than petrol stations. More supermarkets sell fuel in Portugal than Spain.

Ok people ,, what a result !!!

On a massive campsite called camping albuefera, bloody lovely,, great showers, lovely supermarket, good internet ,,,, and wait for it ...... 17 euros for 2 nights including electric and Internet etc !! Yes you heard right ,,, 17 euros for 2 nights!! I paid that for one night yesterday and to be honest it was crap !!!!

Very proffessional run ( by the look of it) and a bus service every half hour at the gate yo albuefera old town. Bonus !!

Nice sized pitch, water electric on pitch, so things are on the up!!!!

Portugal here we come !! Xxxx

Well people, I am in albefura old town,, bus in was 3 mins and 1.2 euros!!

It is bloody lovely here,, shops open all day, lovely little streets!! Lovelier people ( except this geezer who's just mugged me for 2 euros for a coffee) lol. Still tourist prices I guess??

Couple of gypsy musicians playing in the square, one on guitar and one on violin , really good though, very clever!!

Now there must be a few Romanies about cause they keep trying to sell me strawberries !! They even walk round campsites! Still if they make a living, more power to em!!

So I found a tabaconist that sells embassy no 1 so that's a brucey bonus!!

Just found out site does big roast dinners on Sunday's, and has some sort of entertainment every day!!

I have already made my mind up to stay a week or two!!

I think I'm actually starting to understand what Portugal, well the algarve is all about!!!

I think I like it ( even though the coffee is dearer than Spain). Lol. Chat later xxx

Watch those travellers ! May be your flamenco dancers cousins!!;)

Ist meal in Portugal !!! Gonna go traditional. !!!

Kebab (donner of course)
Fries
Coca Cola..

You can't get more Portuguese than that!! And even more,, the shop is Indian owned and run !!!

It's good to see the traditional, historical side of a country!!!! Xx

You have got the old town for the day , and the strip, for night life, plus a beach, wants some beating.

Brilliant gypsy market one day a month, don't know exactly when but anyone there will know(y)

Seeing as how you are in to building , it's worth a walk over to the new harbour, past the fish quey just to see all the houses that they started building and now left half built and derelict.

Ian I am certain you didnt get that old and ugly without learning a thing or three. However beware the street beggars especially Romanians, as they are often just there to distract you for a pickpocket or to identify you as a target for robbery

Ian you can walk to old town from that site, just go out the entrance and follow the path on your left, nice walk. Good supermarket just down the road also Pingo or something I think it's called and just a bit further on a big lidal, guys selling oranges just outside the entrance of site. Nice fresh baked bread in the on site super market about 8.30 am, enjoy.

One package holiday we had there, in the sol e mar, above the tunnel to the sea from the old town, was£150 for two of us bed and breakfast, for a week as much as you could eat, only a couple of years ago, fantastic.
