Ian and helga go south !!

I worked for a while in Currys 40 odd years ago and one day a chap came in he looked like a tramp and he asked one of the salesman for a paraffin fridge ? I thought he was a nutter ,the manager thought different as it was Mr,Dennis Curry and it was for his boat which was moored at Chester.:X3:
 
I could telll you a few tales as well Ian. Not about me, I'm not posh or wealthy in material goods (not interested and never have been), but about people I have met and worked for and with. No names of course!

Like the Country Club member who made an official complaint about the scruffy man who always sat in the corner and never paid for his drinks?????? Said scruffy man owned the club and was a multi-millionaire, employed almost 1,000 people directly and indirectly (myself included - I did his accounts, annual, VAT, payroll etc) all his wealth was through his own work, he "lived poor", although he had bought the house his parents rented all their lives and he still lived in it ( two up , two down) but he did have an inside bathroom installed. He'd never bought a new car and all his clothes were high street or catalogue and worn until they were in holes.

He had never married although he'd had a serious relationship, unfortunately the lady in question died and there were no children. He left all his personal wealth to a charitable foundation.

I like the tale @Puddleduck just sad his partner died. Wonder what his drive / motivation was, was he happy?

He was a lovely man when I knew him but local people said the mellowness had come with age. In his youth he had been angry, driven and bad tempered they say...... It is a shame that his partner died, cancer is such a cruel disease now, and more so back then.

He thought it was hilarious that I could milk goats by hand! I'd been doing some farm accounts for a farm that had a herd of pedigree milking goats and their machine broke down. As I could milk I offered to help out and had to re-arrange some of the other appointments to be a little later that day including his :) After that whenever I was running late he always asked me if I'd got the goats done. :rofl:
 
Hello ,,

I played golf like a man with no arms yesterday. I couldn't hit a bloody barn door!! Took me 3 shots to get onto a par 3 green and it was only 78 yds away !!! So I'm not gonna talk about it !!!

Ok now I am in the city of Cadiz. Well the architecture has blown me away already and I've only just arrived !! So will have a look round and post in a bit !! I am with my German mate and we arrived in luxury, lol. I was chauffeur driven !! Lol. Chat soon. Xxx.

I have just run out of em !! I'm gutted! Now I have to drink soddin tetleys!!!
 
I may have to return when I go along the coast to find an iceland, just to restock!! And maybe look for Tracey or Sharon at the same time !!! Lol. Xx.
 
Well just returned from Cadiz and I like it. A lot!! In fact so much I am going back to stay in a nice hotel for the weekend,, I want to see what it's like at night?? Bars are lovely, food great, really pretty squares, and I want to see some flamenco and they have it there!!!
So Friday I will go in the morning, find a hotel and spend fri and sat night at least !! It will give me a chance to put a nice set of clothes on ( clean) and shoes and mix with the nobs !! ( of course where nobs are concerned I am the biggest) !!! So that is something to look foreward to!!

It's lovely and hot today, sun is shining and I am just partaking of a large gin and tonic in a lovely little bar called las dunas, at the trafalger point, it's a great bar, apparently famous but I don't know what for???? Perhaps it's because Nelson had a pint here before he whooped their arses !!! Lol. Chat soon. Ian. Xx.

I wish I could take better photos. Mine don't do the place justice anthea,, it's truly beautiful!! You can walk down narrow streets for ages, cafes, squares, small park areas, truly lovely!!! No cars in the old streets just peace and quiet, and the buildings and architecture is amazing, best little city so far !!! I hope Seville is as nice ? ( if and when I get there). Lol. Xx
 
We missed Cadiz this time but judging from these photos I think you'd like Jerez, Ian, and very close too.

Good evening !! I just got back from my last game of golf here and I did better than Monday but still lost, but the guy I played today was good so he deserved to win !!

Ok it's been lovely here today, really sunny and hot, all day!! One of the best days so far of this trip!!

Ok so this is the plan !!! Cadiz Friday morning till Sunday, then back to chill on Monday and then off to Seville !!

So if those coordinates are floating about for that place in or near Seville I am ready for them now !!

I have just put 2 jacket potatoes in the oven or rather 2 potatoes that I'm turning into jacket pots!! And ham, with baked beans!! I may even sprinkle some cheese on top!!

I'm not going out tonight so it will be an early one for me so I will chat tomorrow if that's ok !! Have a lovely night!! Xxx.
