Ian and helga go south !!

Sanlucar de Barrameda has an excellent free aire and 11 bodegas I think.
Allow more like 2 hours for tour and tasting. Tourist info just into town from the aire has all the info.
We also did a bullfight there, spectacular, bloody, and a once only experience!

A word of warning Ian re the weather coming in all over Spain and including Andalucia. Tomorrow are expecting VERY strong winds - so much so that there are loads of warnings being issued stating as strongly as 'risk of death!' And to stay inside and up to 4m waves ! After that - the temperatures are due to plummet for most of next week and the snow line is forecast at 800m.
Choose you're site/pitch carefully and be prepared!!!
As you head inland - you will be climbing all the way.
But remember - it's always safe and dry and warm in a bar!

flip me Dave !! Kill me now !!!!

If you want some ideas of interesting places to visit - like Granada, Seville etc - sit with your cuppa and have a browse round this site for the threads by @Robert Clark as his writings on their travels are superb.

Can't remember the exact thread titles but he may be along to point you in the right direction.

Can't look myself got to spruce the house up for a potential buyer.

I guess this is it Ian

Also just heard that the Sierra Nevada ski station which is above Granada has closed today!

I'd find a cave if I were you:eek:

Ian from the sound of it I would get a few extra supplies in so if bad weather hits you can choose when to go out or in it not be caught out, good idea to empty your tanks and top up with water before it hits (check the weather your area ). We can't have our special reporter blown away.

You are right to avoid the dating sites.
You don't want another incontinent, alcoholic, halitosis ridden geriatric with smelly feet and one eye !!

Please..........Don't tell me my wife has started using those sites again!

Morning anthea, I'm actually on my third cuppa now but I have to stay in helga!! Every time I go to open my door there is a freaky white poodle looking at me from next vans window ! And he's got a dodgy bottom jaw so it looks like he's mentally unstable, it's quite unnerving when I just want my tea outside, and I'm being glared at by a lunatic dog!!! Who is clearly drooling !!
Was it a little dog like this 1 he had some teeth out thursday so he's not. a happy bunny right now though he's waiting for his next trip in the van, have fun Ian

Ok all. Just arrived at camping isobela!
Lovely job, it will suit me nicely !!

Ok the journey was fraught with danger and poor old helga had to battle oncoming, side, under and over winds up mountains galore!! It was so bad bless her she was down to 55 kilometres an hour on some hills!!

I was fine though all I had to do was hold onto the wheel while sitting on the cassette I got from the locker! I opened it of course to make the entry smoother!! I swear helga was on two wheels sometimes!! I moaned about the wind in agilarus Never again will I Moan !!! The first thing I have just done is empty waste tank, fill with fresh drinking water and got my shovel out and scooped my poop out of cab (. Just the overflow).

I am excited and pleased to have got here in one piece though and from driving in the city looks great!! And guess what?? It's Saturday night!!! Wooopie !!! So the cost is 17 euros a night, with electric and wifi incluado!! Lol. And a bus runs outside the camp into town every 15 mins in the week and every half hour on sat and Sunday ! So that's all sorted!! Temperature says 10 degrees but it is nice and they had a bit of rain they said this morning!

Well Granada HERE WE COME !! Lol

Right I'm in the middle of Granada!! What a difference!! Thousands of people. Thousands of cars. Tons of shops!! Sweet ! Just having coffee in a nice bar in town. People watching!! ( my favourite pastime). It's a bit different how they dress here!! I'm gonna have to make an effort tonight!! Lol. Found out where to go for the Alhambra or whatever it's called. And I'm looking for a bug square now?? I just realised its valentines here I think ! They gone rises mad!!! Lol.

Might be your lucky weekend Ian.

Wherever you go just make sure you are not under any trees, which they love people to camp under. When I looked at the BBC weather site it said up to 45 MPH gusts, it was 70 MPH gusts in Scotland and no mention of danger of death! Unless of course the Spanish are prone to be blown away in 45 MPH winds ?;)

Hahaha. It's raining here now, lol. Hard! It's like being at home!!

Look at the coffee I just got. Probably the closest I'm going to get !!! Haha. ( but she is exactly what I'm looking for). !!!!! View attachment 93306
That is hilarious ! You don't get that at Costa! Was it a Tracy/Sharon who served you?!;)

Haha It's a lovely old bird that's serving me babe. And she keeps bringing me bits of cake !!! Lol.
I LOVE GRANADA. !!! Lol

If you're planning to visit the Alhambra it's worth ordering your tickets online as visitor numbers are regulated - sorry if this has been suggested before

Do they have suckers on the soles?
The only sucker I can see is wearing them !!! They were 160 quid 200 bloody euros!

Hi Rob thanks for link just booked tickets for tomorrow at 2 pm 15 euros to be picked up at all am brand booking office! I assume that's where I have to go?
There is a ticket collection office at the main entrance - best to get there early as the queue can be long. Don't forget your ID and card used for payment
There are some bars and restaurants by the entrance.
Enjoy your day !
