Ian and helga go south !!

Evening all, well it's my last day here tomorrow and I must say the place is looking really good ! Jo's well pleased and she cooked me a lovely roast chicken dinner tonight when I finished... Well couldn't get much done yesterday due to the wind ( not mine, the weather) !!! But in the morning I had to go hunting some polystyrene sheets that had blown away and when I found them, hanging, broken and skeward on the olive trees, I had to bring them back,, well that was harder than I figured,, every time the wind caught them I had to walk in the direction they took me, I was getting further from the bloody finca every second, it's a weird feeling walking straight then getting turned round at right angles in a split second!!! Lol. But all was good in the end, , I had to hold onto an olive tree till the wind dropped and then make a dash for it!!! I only got blown back 15 ft once, Jo was laughing her head off!!! And today the wind vanished and I got lots done, shelves, curtain poles, built the lean to , all was going lovely till I walked into a timber brace I had just screwed in, got me right in the eye,, I got a lovely shiner now!!!! Still like I said, last day tomorrow, just have to fit solar panel to roof, a couple of bolts inside front door.... So I'm going to be on holiday from Wednesday and I'm really looking foreward to it!! Site for a week I think, washing, a few beers, maybe the occasional meal out,, I can't get on the list pinos website for some reason so I think I'm still looking for a site towards the coast, Any ideas will be welcome!! I'm looking foreward to meeting some funsters and hopefully having a laugh!! Chat soon,, Ian. X

Is there a hidden message in there I wonder? Lol. How far is Denia from tortosa? I can't even find it on the map!!! And a postcode would be good? Lol.
 
Have really enjoyed reading your posts and Jo's page on face book We look forward to the next episode of your travels and adventures Ian . Our 6 berth Sundance went of into the sunset with its new owners today it got me thinking of the day you went to look and buy Helga I wonder what their first month will be like bet it wont be anything like yours thankyou for sharing it with us all here on Fun x

hi ambilkate thanks for reply, Jo gets her new internet setup tomorrow so she can catch up with her blog and pics etc, she has had more time than me to play with her camera!! Lol. I'm sure the new buyers of your mh will be chuffed to bits with it, I have been in helga since the 9th of December now and I'm still wondering why I didn't discover the mh life sooner, too busy paying bills I guess!! Anyway thanks for reading and I will keep posting but I'm not sure I will get in so many scrapes?? But you never know, do you!!! Lol. Ian X
 
In fact I would like to say thank you to all who have been reading and replying to this part of my life!!!! I have had a blast being here and I'm pleased I could help Jo,,, it has been a lovely introduction to Spain, nice and relaxed and the only war wounds were cut thumb, bruised chin, two pairs of ruined undies and today's black eye!!! Oh and the occasional bit of hurt pride!! So on Tuesday I'm off to pastures new, camping los pinos and then a beach as told about! Hope to see you somewhere, you have all become friends to me!!! Oh and by the way,, I will be posting for advice, help etc for as long as I'm breathing!!! Thank you all. Chat soon and sleep well!! Ianxxx.

I love Cromer Steve!!! I used to get there at any opportunity I had!! Only in the summers though! Give my regards to the crabs!! I don't miss them !! Lol.

Ok Jim, I'm frightened to death of those things!! The one I used when I went from the ferry port to castalariena cost me 29 euros to get off,,, and I was only on the bloody thing for an hour!!! But I was told afterwards that I should have pressed the button to tell someone I was a Motorhome and not an artic !!!! Lol.

Just checked on Michelin route planner 197 miles not using toll roads.
We never used toll roads in spain. This road and toll road run virtually along side each other.

Hi Ian really enjoying you tails if you head to Denia there is a nice town along the coast in southerly direction called Javea you want to head to Javea Playa Arenal a few places to wild camp around and a real nice place. A few ex pats about so possible potential for work if ya feel the need also a campsite just of the seafront. I will add google map link you will see a restaurant called Scallops realy nice place (cheap) by a meal ya leave with free bottle of wine and a voucher for a free breaky . look at map and across road from there is a fairground in winter this is packed up and lots of people wild camp here. Just an idea for you to consider heres the map of location.

Think you'll find it is a garage with car wash behind & the drive over is by back fence with cassette dump through gate in fence. you get key from reception. I only found out about it christmas eve as I went in their in the car & a MH came in to dump. No idea whether there is a charge but would assume so.
 
I haven't commented until now but I've looked forward to every post. It's nice to hear of good things happening to a decent person. Continue to have a brilliant time & keep the posts coming. :)(y)

drove past there the other day, the old fairground has gone and a new Taylor Wimpy site office has appeared :) quite a number of motorhomes still on the car park. Might change soon though if building is about to start :(

there is a laundry a couple of minutes walk away---------very close to the Wok for all you can eat Chinese food
 
Spain is not like France ..Tolls are well cheap hardly worth avoiding

@ianthebuilder have you got that fridge sorted yet.....
