I came past loads of fruity sellers today Mitch,,,, I'm still waiting for your credit card to reach me?? Has it got lost in the post?? Xx.
Was that the smell ???
Sorry about the credit card, it arrived in Spain when you were in Portugal.. They sent it back to me, so I sent it to Portugal, but you had come back to Spain by then !!!
So they sent it back to me and it is now on its way to Calais !!!
SLOW DOWN MAN !!!!!
Much love.
Mitch. :pinocchio:

The thing is Ian you are only coming back for a bit to fund your next adventure not going back to your former lifestyle. Look at it as a temporary blip in your adventure.
Where next? It has been great fun reading your blog I suspect Sandie wants to read it too. Thanks and have a good crossing.

Work is a means to an end, so that you can get back to enjoying life abroad again.
So glad you have discovered the joys of our chosen lifestyle.
All you have to do now is trim your expenditure a bit so that you can work less and travel more !!! THAT is the trick !!!
See you soon.
PS. Blighty is in for a week more of North winds and cold days and nights, THEN, Spring will lead us gently into Summer...
A VERY good time to return to our country.... so keep smiling geezer !!
Mitch.

Are you in Le Mans or just South/North of it?

If South and tommorrow you head through le mans on the ring road, whatch out for the very last roundabout on the north side, from it you can take the cheap N road or the motorway toll, its very easy to get on the motorway (1st Exit) by mistake then you stuck on he toll. not that ive ever done that of course:whistle:

I know you don't like me suggesting things, but why don't you try an aire, just for future reference, and save yourself a couple of quid

If you have time go to the racing circuit museum at Le Mans race track - fantastic - or it was when I was there in 1992

Ian,
If you want a taster of an Aire before you come back to the UK, you could do worse than have your last night at the Jeugdstadion at Ypres. www.jeugdstadion.be/E/ligging.php
( GPS coordinates 50.84690 N 2.89812 E)

It is in Belgium so that would be the fourth country on your trip
It has a hardstanding Aire and the benefits of a campsite (toilets, showers etc)
Has free wifi (if you get near reception)
Cheap cigarettes & diesel
40 minutes to Dunkirk ferry
€15 includes everything
You can visit the Menin Gate Memorial for the Last Post at 8pm
Plenty of bars & food a 15 minute walk away.

And the good news is that it was snowing in Belgium yesterday :( and hailstones in Putney just now!

May I suggest the museum at Arromanches nice town great museum I had never heard of the place before, proving schools dont teach you anything. Also as said Ypres for the last post is a nice town and the last post should be witnessed at least once on your life time. at least try one aire I will ring you before weeks out Ian

I've just had a thought!!!

Is it bank holiday in uk this weekend? I thought I heard someone mention it?
I need to find a site near Clacton for sat and Sunday really,,, anybody live there who knows one??? Cheers,,,

So good evening,,

I have as stated in an earlier post flown through France,, it definately will be a place I shall explore properly soon !!!

I'm in Le Mans now on a lovely acsi site nice loos, paper supplied but STILL NO SEAT !! What is it with France? I havnt been to a loo with a seat yet???

Tomorrow I'm going to somewhere further north and then I hope to get an earlier ferry ( due to flexi ticket) back to uk for the end of the week!!

Like I said I'm hoping to find a site in Essex, as close to Clacton as I can for sat night, and Sunday prob!! So any help would be gratefully accepted!!

Now I'm still trying to formulate my thoughts about my little adventure,, and I will try to get it all sorted in my mixed up little bald head, so I can post at the end of the week !!

I will be contacting those of you that have messaged me regarding some help with work next week when my hangover has gone, and whatever the outcome I appreciate the thoughts...

Now I have just had oven fried chips, 2 chicken fillets in breadcrumbs with baked beans and tomatoe sauce !! It was bloody horrible!!! But filling,,,
I am in the food Capitol of the world and I'm eating that muck!! Go figure!!!

Anyway like I said before, I'm just shooting through to get home, I will be back!!!

In a strangely sadistic way I'm looking forward to being home it's been four months and 2 weeks since I left Blighty but that time has flown by, I can't quite believe how quick it's gone!!!

Now I would like to post for the last time on this thread when I'm on the ferry, but if it's ok with you lot, I would like to start another when I'm back and living in the real world,, it probably will be even more catastrophic !!!! So I will need a title for the new thread,, any ideas????

So just a nice night again ( apart from the weather) and the Internet is good here and I'm now watching a film,,,,
Bed about ten I think and a good nights kip is in order,,, I'm actually quite shocked how tiring 5/6 hours driving is when your going through villages etc,, there's not much room in some of them !!

Anyway thanks for listening today and I will speak to you tomorrow!!

Sleep well ,, Ian,, helga. Xxxxxx

You may be better pre booking Ian. It IS a bank holiday. Britain bring some sunshine back with you. Have a safe crossing.

We have stayed at the aire in Le Mans a couple of times, a bit tight for spce but handy for a walk around the place.
