Ian and helga go south !!

image.jpg Well that's a surprise!! Must have come further than I thought !! But looking back it's been a fair way!!
Prom has run out and only main highways from here, and I don't fancy my chances on big main roads with juggernauts whistling past me!!

So I will return a different way and see what I have missed cycling along the seafront!! If you can make it out that's where I have come from in the pic,, the very top of the picture!!!

And you say you are coming back here to lay bricks(n):(:)

Are you past Torrox???
The cycle path runs along the coast road pretty much all the way to Nerja - or have you gone as far as Barcelona:p

Shouldn't have to go on the road at all.

Dave me old son !!!!

I cycled as far as cycle paths go to a big road at the end of some small cottages where if I'd have gone further I would have got wet!!! Lol. I don't know if I could have gone further but it didn't look like it!! It's all good though, I'm in the hills a bit further inland now and it's lovely!! I hope it's all downhill from here!! See you later!!

View attachment 99443 Just for you carol !!! A light lunch!!! In the shade, overlooking the sea!! They taste gorgeous and the weather is lovely!!!
My idea of heaven on a plate, to me what you are doing is what Motorhoming is all about.

Well carol. I think I have been pretty lucky, considering I have never seen the inside of a Motorhome before helga!! I never realised the sence of freedom I would get or feel when I'm in her, plodding along, looking thru the huge windscreen at stunning scenery, various shapes and sizes of fruity sellers!! Coming round corners and having the Mediterranean appear before me in all its glory!! Stopping in many places to eat, drink, sleep...

But the best thing so far on this trip I have found, is how relaxed and happy the people I have met are, welcoming , warm, and so far. Genuine ( except for the Romany who I hope is still nursing a broken hand in Portugal) ... Even the English i have met here that spend a good while here are nothing like they the people I meet in U.K.! ( stressed, under pressure, sick of working for nothing, don't feel like their getting anywhere) just like me 4 months ago!!

I have walked and talked to people in places you probably wouldn't want to go carol, but I find it interesting toget behind the glitzy of the tourist trap!!

And so far, All the way along my journey I have been greeted with nothing but warmth and smiles, from the poorest of people to the richest!!

I have gained far more than I ever thought possible so far,, and it's all thanks to a quick decision on a Motorhome called helga, and a couple of weeks before Christmas on the Motorhome fun website!! I know it's tongue in cheek but I think Jim has it bang on!! In my opinion the people on it and associated with it. Make it easily. The best Motorhome site in the world!!

Have a lovely afternoon carol, and I will look foreword to seeing you in the uk. ! Xxxx ( now stop bloody replying will you! I got a long way to go. And every time you reply I have to stop !! ). Xxxx

Ian

If you want beaches/beach scenery don't come to visit Totana. The camperstop is in the foothills of the mountains, Sierra Espuña, and the town is 3km away, downhill, which means 3km back uphill. There is a bar/restaurant 2km away on the flat canal road.

Don't want you to come here and be disappointed!

Edit

Sorry if I made you stop again .

You done me in carol!! I stopped to answer your message ,, unfortunately I stopped next to a fish barbecue pit, the smell was so good that I have had to sit down and have another plate of fish'
So much for getting back in shape babe!! image.jpgI didn't get 100 yds from the prawns !!! Lol. X

I've cut & pasted for you Ian.

GPS 37.7928°N 1.5104°W (If you come from south of Spain did not cross the center of the town of Totana.Follow the motorway until the exit 609)

From the motorway take junction 609 signed Poligono Industrial/Totana/Aledo.

Follow this road towards Aledo, at the 5th rounderbout Exit right signed Polideportivo. After approx 500 metres pass the Polideportivo ( Sports

centre) and continue straight on to a T junction at the canal. You may now have lost your GPS location, but this will return shortly.

Turn right at canal and continue a further 300 metres to the Camperstop entrance.

DO NOT GO THROUGH THE CENTRE OF TOTANA. SOME GPS SYSTEMS DO NOT HAVE THE BY-PASS SO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ABOVE.

Ian , I know I get on your nerves with these sort of questions, but just for info and maybe help to others thinking of following you, without personal details, how do you get on with your post, national insurance, tax ,even the insurance on your mh , is that OK for more than three months away and other stuff like that, don't know if you have travel insurance but if you have , most don't work after three months.
Sorry if it's put a damper on your evening, just something I have been thinking about.

Hello chaser,,

When I left uk I was registered at a mates address,, I don't get any important post, banking online , statements come online etc!
If it looks official my mate opens and reads em to me,,
Insurance on Motorhome from that address, paid for 1 yr..now they told me I was covered for unlimited days abroad , safeguard ins ( nearly £500 per year)
Travel insurance I have which is private, very good cover. With virgin. £150 for 6 months ( the longest cover I could get)
Obviously I have ehic also !!
