I noticed the soldiers were out of step, certainly not the usual well drilled performance. Okay I’m going to say it, may get shot down but I really think filming and hearse is disrespectful and clapping and cheering also is of bad taste in my opinion, may just be me but it’s what I think.

Oh and whilst at it, the Police officers could have been more respectful, the Inspector not on crowd duty at St Giles as she passed remained, “at ease” …..come on please!

I'm a bit disappointed that HMQ will now go to London by plane rather than train. I would have gone to Berwick to pay respects as the train went through. I dare say a few people who live near the railway route feel the same way.

I'm a bit disappointed that HMQ will now go to London by plane rather than train. I would have gone to Berwick to pay respects as the train went through. I dare say a few people who live near the railway route feel the same way.

Apparently, according to the Yorkshire Post, that was part of the original plan, but someone high up has changed it.
Frankly, I think they have missed a trick there.

Had they put a steam loco in front of the royal train, (possibly with a diesel as a 'backup') and then put the coffin on a flatbed carriage on a catafalque, not only would the world press have filmed the entire thing, they would have had hundreds of thousands lining the route.

Tourist revenue in the UK would then have gone through the roof in 2023 and 24 when we will be desperate for every Dollar, Euro and Yen that we can lay our hands on.

I smell the hand of political interference.
