No wine tasting tonight as restaurant is closed and its eerily Q.
We popped down instead to the bar where we had the cheap version of wine tasting. 8 glasses of wine for the square root of diddly squat.
Then we bought a dam decent pinot grigio for 3 euros and 30 cents. Last Grigio i bought was 9 euros from the old geezer at eguisheim.
The suavecarve wine reservoir will be back to flowing tomorrow.
We havent even looked round this gaffe and already found a pool table inflateable bouncy thing cycle tracks lovely villagesvyour satnav takes you through.
Early impressions are very favourableView attachment 423378View attachment 423379
Where are you? Sounds like my sort off place, and as Calais wines will be off the stock up list might be ideal🍷🍷

After leaving Obertsrot we headed down to a wild near Vogtsburg, i walked down the hill to ask where i could purchase the vineyard and ended up getting roped into helping pick the 🍇 Beautiful spot 72017 on P4N.

We've now moved East, stopping in at the Rodelbahn in Todtnau... OMG that thing is fast, and long, very very long, i was lucky I had a spare pair of clean undercrackers!

Now at the very nice, free Parkinplatz on the banks of the Donau next to Herbertingen. P4N #195344

Cheers
Bannock, Chris and Red.

Help.
We have gone to the restaurant and ordered our 5 wines for 4 euros we thought blow the expense and we would eat out.
I ve played safe with a couple of bratwurst.
Paula has gone for the cheese platter. She was offered limburger cheese with it. It seemed rude to say no. Then the people next door explained.
Worth googling.
Oh well waiting for it.

RedFrame glad you enjoyed it.

Also managed to buy 5 litres of red and white in solid containers for 11 euros each. Container was inclusive and sturdy.

Has anyone else spotted other Brit MoHo’s on their travels recently?

We are currently on Lake Constance and have not seen another Brit since leaving Calais and visiting Belgium, Mosel, Black Forest and now Lake Constance (on a BIG site and not a Brit anywhere).

I must say I’m the type who loves to find everyone else speaking another language - it means I’ve managed to escape from the norm!

Many are scared to leave the uk which is what the uk government hoped for.
Personally I think anywhere in europe is less risk than here .....roll on next week im off

With the exception of RedFrame for the night we saw a van at mindeg but they didnt get out. We have seen and severely waved at a n other and saw a van parked up having a morning break near gaggenau couple of days ago in a layby. Kirsten was lost around here at that time.
Must be knocking on towards 80 vans here over 2 days and we have seen swedes ! No brats (sic) though

One van arrived here the night after us, I’m the same, doesn’t bother me if I hear another English voice or not, but do tend to find most m homers coming down this far aren’t what we’ve been getting back home for the past Two months.

We bagged a really good pitch when we arrived but it was bloody cold and not many here, y day and today the place is overflowing, no places left and wondering now the temp has been rising everyone is getting away, moving on tomorrow Sorry suavecarve heading the other direction East and just hoping we can get as good a pitch as this

FiL is at Watten tonight not worried about Q14.
He lives in same house as us and we are due back Wednesday but might go Tuesday as bought even more wine since this pm and it will take some time to offload it !
We can do shopping for them etc before our grumpsons birthday parties hence them going home now and us missing Q14
Wine we found whilst out. Next village to weingert begins with an H. 2 sellers on the street and both had queues so we bought 10 litres for 22 euros including 2 containers.
We also bought another box from weingut

suavecarve , This looks lovely. Just put it on our list for next week :giggle: .
In case you don't realise, I think the wine you've bought in the plastic containers is Neuer Wein also known as Junger Wein or Federweisser. It is this year's part fermented wine. Being part fermented, it's not strong. It's a bit fizzy because the fermentation process is still on-going. It is also quite sweet. Be careful transporting it in your van and make sure that the tops are not on tight, or you could just get an explosion .
I enjoy it in moderation, but find it a bit on the sweet side.

We are still at Baden Baden - cycled into town spent 6 hours in the spa - it was utterly utterly fabulous. Had lunch there sat in sun in the garden bit for ten mins but mostly was in the huge waterfalls and warm pools. Clean to squeaking point . Was 38 in the full sun 29 in van on our return . Wall to wall sun. 2 British vans here but not speaking or making the contact of the eye ( must be us!😢) gone when we got back from spa .. not seen anyone else from uk in stels or on road . There is a big shopping centre v
Near the parking . Got grandkids posh marzipan fro. The posh supermarket there . Next stop Titisee to NOT buy a cuckoo clock ... PS Mr S carve - often lost 😄 no sense of direction xxx

ShaKen - we seem to be going in the opposite direction to you. We left Constance this morning and are now in the Black Forest.

We are trying to decide on on one more stop between the mid Black Forest and Aachen.

Where would you all recommend??

I was saying the same to SWMBO last night - rammed here but haven’t seen one Brit since Calais.

We stopped at Tittisee last year at the top end campsite not the first one you come to, I’ll try and remember which it was, all terraced snowed a bit great for walking cycling, the spa their was massive, something like 14 saunas not sure what the current situation is like with Covid though, lots of Chinese in the town but we didn’t eat out as most places were shut.

We have had to release the pressure already.
I was expecting some expansion but not that much that quickly but if it is still in fermentation that would explain it.
Moved bottles to shower for tonight.
Armed with that knowledge from you i ll drop a tad of yeast with a spoonful of sugar and kick start a refermentation when we get back to make it a dry wine and more alcoholic.
You have been a carpet saver

The weingut and stock up on the decent stuff rather than the uncontrollable explosion that may happen in our van tonight

Or really left field go bad sobernheim and pay for the barefoot walk. 4 euros each. Bloody brilliant if you are a big kid. May go back tomorrow and just swim in the mud because i can

Assuming you did the roman bath place. We so wanted to go there but the boss said no for cv reasons and it will be there next year.
Definite bucket list item.

As we passed this van i thought " bet thats Kirsten" then later read you were lost towards BB but you needed to be truly lost to have been there.
Jealous of your spa.
Can reccomend bad durkheim spa enter after 1700 hrs for value

bellabee just rechecked wine 2 hours after checking previously and releasing pressure.
They would not have made it through the night !!!
Have allowed air gap. Might be finding a home brew place and sticking a bubble on them.

*****WARNING****** do not buy this stuff if you dont understand fermentation and expansion. I do and wish i hadnt bought it !!!

Just drink some of it :giggle: ! That'll have the dual benefit of leaving space in the top of the containers, and making you sleep through the night 👍.

Brilliant thinking.

But i ve had my normal shedload already.
😁
Looks like i ll have to wait til breakfast to implement this cunning plan......if we survive the explosion in the middle of the night

Even though i m in a drunken stupor managed to think about it and have transferred half a litre if each to used bottles.

So we can now hope for no explosions ..... Or we will have plastic shrewn all in the shower looking like a blood bath and shattered glass in the kitchen looking like a crime scene

My wife loves me at the moment soooo much 😅

Heading to Wintrich this morning, hopefully get in before the 11-1 rush hour. Love the area around Piesport so will park up until Sunday am. Saves fighting the weekenders for spaces
