Germany/Austria August/September information sharing.

Landed at Mendig. The aire was full. But i have used french aires for far too long to not be able to find a parking space.
Went from bergues to aachen. Plenty of roadworks from belgium onwards. Numerous junctions with ppl using the gap i leave. Road surface better than i remember. Real easy journey (for us) might go brussels on return though and yes been caught there before.
Lozsing has been "authorising" maps for requesters but everyone should feel free to add places and share it.
I think it would be nice to keep it members only so would ask that be respected.

No £200 fine for arriving early at eurotunnel then? We are at Tesco’s in Folkestone waiting for our friends then going to chance it and drive round early 👍

Beer purchased.
We are on the volcanic route.
And we have just spotted the volcanic brewery about 150 metres over the road. It might even be in photo 1 the tall building above lava statue number 3 from the right. They are outsid

Our train was cancelled so we were 30 min late departing. Terminal was deserted, our passports were begrudgingly checked at both the UK and French kiosks but that was it.

We are now at the a small canal-side arie in Belgium (Port de Plaisance). There is a small, safe restaurant on site with very nicely kept beer.
Life is good.

Vulkan Brauerei
The deepest fermentation cellar of the world – 30 meter under the earth – is placed under the Vulkan brewery in Mendig, Germany. The basalt vault, which was built after the eruption of a volcano, was used as cooling and storage building by 28 breweries in Mendig. In 1876 the cooling unit was invented.

It is called the beer king of the german volcano route.

We ve decided to down these 2 beers and go over there !!!

We were there 6 weeks ago. Definite revisit. Think there was a full timer single lady just to the left of where you took photo. Well worth a chat to. Multi multilingual

We spotted that if you use the west to east road under aachen then the 2nd junction when in germany there is a big centre commercial with 4 petrol stations.
We have our eye on that for way home.
Paid 1.10 for diesel elsewhere yesterday.

The last fuel stop on that motorway in belgium right on the border did lpg for 0.44

Hopefully not too much a 'thickie' question.... looks like you cant use UK credit cards in Germany [certainly at most stellaplatzes?] can you use them in shops etc? Also does anyone know if the stels take notes as previous posts imply change only ...Thank you
The campsite we were on only took Cash.
