Gareth & Phil have fun in Spain 2025.

I'm not sure what happened last night but the heating hasn't been working or at least to its full potential.
It's set for 22 degrees as it's 0 degrees outside, we have hovered at 16 degrees, but I think that's just because we have that hanging dryer on as Phil did some washing last night.
I will sort it out when we get to Benidorm later.
Another annoying factor is that the washing machine is not on the inverter system, so at present, we can only use it if we have hook up.
Not good enough, someone definitely dropped the ball on that one.
Did you tick the box for the microwave, air conditioning, dishwasher and washing machine to be fed from the inverter? Believe it or not it is an extra but based on lithium selection as the base package cannot support the load.
Another hack you may consider is a T Line from the Alde hot water to the washing machine to allow you to use gas to heat the washing machine water, we have it done for both the washing machine and dish washer and it saves a lot of power by not using battery power to heat the water.

We chose the inverter as an extra option yes

Not sure about the Loft choices but the use of inverter for the items I listed was an option extra on my Palaces and Empire. May be worth checking but it has never been a standard item. The selection of the extra was also based on the size of the lithium package you selected. It would only allow you to select inverter feed to said items if your lithium package was big enough, washing machine, AC and dishwasher has never been standard unless it changed in 2025 models.
However, it’s not a big job. Trace where the machine is fed from in the non essential board, pull the cables out and move to the essential board and job done.

After a small shop for bits and pieces.
We had a lovely lunch at Les Dunes on Llevante beach front.
I think a small nana nap before heading out onto the town later

Don't forget you can get parcels delivered to pick up points throughout Spain as well. Just in case you see some chargers online.

I've had Amazon.es orders delivered to Spanish campsites.
It was a lifesaver when we needed a replacement cassette.😀

Currently about 1 hour from Zaragoza, had to stop for a caffeine break as I'm feeling a little tired. We stopped at Haro and spent far too much on wine 😮🤣🤣
That’s an impossibility in Haro ! I love the Rioja region and its wine , food and people . I’ll have my ashes spread at a vineyard there ! You gotta give back what you’ve taken out 🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Purchased a Spanish extension as the washer has a euro plug, connected it into a english socket we have in the garage area that's on the inverter via a converter plug.
We now have a working washing machine that works from our lithium batteries.
Total cost €14.
Problem solved till we are back in the uk and premium motorhomes can sort it to our required specifications.

Maybe it's because they feel that every end user is a numpty, unaware of the draw of their appliances, and the limitations of their batteries. If that is their reasoning, can a type of switching sensing unit not be installed, preventing the use of more than 1 x high draw appliance at any one time?
Our inverter is only 2000w, so when the kettle is boiled, the toaster goes on, and when the toast pops up, the microwave/grill/oven goes on. It's not rocket science for those with a bit of savvy. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
Too right Jock. I've got a 2000w inverter in my truck and when I'm using the microwave I just run the engine. I know it's not the same scenario as running off leisure batteries but the principle is the same....easy

How does that work? Is it a special washing machine/dishwasher? Or you are just feeding warm water through the cold water inlet? I’m very interested in this hack :)

Have a great trip guys. This thread has already given me & Mrs C some ideas for our trip that commences on 5th Jan. Although we're driving through France first, Zaragoza, Logrono & Teruel are all on our route (down to La Manga, Cartagena) and haven't booked anystops yet:frowny:.
Looking forward to hearing how you get on - (and picking up tips for our journey) .

Is Gran Vina Sol only available to Morelo owners .... ? Do the rest of us have to make do with boggo standard Vina Sol on our trips?

Travelling down you won't need to book, however on the coast you may not get your first choice of location.
If you haven't done Logrono or Zaragoza both are worth doing, it's just a bit cold.

Just had a check of the Morelo Brochures and Inverter use for appliances remain an extra at a cost of €290 and is only an option if you have selected 2 lithium batteries, current draw on a single battery is too great and could cause damage.

A nice little earner!

I looked at how the modification was done on my RCD to power up the A/C and Dishwasher from the inverter - and it is simply a case of taking the feed from a different circuit. One cable at the RCD was moved for each appliance (unless there is something more I don't know about - but I suspect there is not).

In fairness to Premium Motorhomes, they only charged me half an hours labour I think from memory. With this in mind, I would be unlikely to ask the factory to do it for 290.00€

We saved £800 for premium to add our extra battery but clearly this was a mistake as they are waiting for a part that registeres both battery's on our system and they didn't add the washing machine because of this. It's down to premium to sort out this debacle.

That salad looks fabulous! Just the sort of fresh and healthy food I want to eat, now that Christmas is over!
Oops the hotel chocolat sort of negated the healthy eating
