Europe

People who went to europe in the past will go to europe in the future, why wouldn't they 🤷‍♂️
I'm sure we are all old enough to remember carrying the different currencies for all the countries we went through back in the day, now its just another change of rules and boxes to tick

If I can’t get over the water I won’t bother buying another Moho....

touring uk just fills me with dread... and if I can’t find the right Moho I’ll buy a tent and pitch it on a grassy aire... 👍🏼😁

We agree 100%, the Uk is not for touring, more turning up at a campsite and sitting in chairs outside a big white box (yawn ); Europe works for touring and exploring which is what we like. Obviously the the pandemic has to be sorted but once it's sensible to travel we're determined to find a way through the Brexit-caused bureaucracy and get over there, including with our dog. If they have succeeded in making it too difficult (and I don't think they have despite their best efforts), then we'd flog our van.

My plan is to go to my second home in Scotland once we can move around the UK, and then once we can go to Europe to spend 6 months plus touring in the EU until I feel my life is back on track.
Do you have a way round the 30 day max rule then? If so I’d love to know how.

But driving hell

I still dont see the appeal ...even the french motorhomers all go elsewhere
This year they are all in greece lol
You must be choosing the wrong roads, driving in France for me means miles and miles of little or no traffic.

Sorry that should be 90 days. Now we have left Europe we can only travel for a max of 90 days unless we have a visa.
Only within shengen
But there are many countries outwith shengen and still in europe

So its still possible to tour if you plan it right 90 days in ,90 days out then 90 days in again.

50mph speed limits , cameras everywhere , farm tracks ,long detours

I have to say ive tried a few times to like it in france as it does have lots of free aires etc and there are a few parts that are nice ....but its not for me

Germany is in lockdown till 15th this month. After that, if they open up, more countries will follow. I genuinely hope by end of March the situation to ease up in terms of travel. The borrowing is taking a toll on governments and they are eager to open up bit by bit.

I’ll be over to France as soon as it’s safe, I quite enjoy driving at 50mph! I just have to go for a swim by the Pont du Gard.

how are you getting around the 90 in 180 rules?

Had to cancel a planned 6-week tour in Europe last year. All the places I had booked in advance have allowed a transfer to this year. So all set to go at end of May - Eurotunnel booked too. I know - its a case of fingers crossed but think positive!! At least with the tunnel dates for crossings can be changed within a 12-month period.

Hi all can't make my mind up as anyone decided not to do Europe anymore or just waiting to see what happens cheers Rod
If we are not still in lockdown we intend to go to Germany in the summer, back to a place we visited in 2020 which is next to a small lake with good swimming area and loads of room for people. The nearest person to us last summer was at least 20 yards away by the lake. We did not use the toilet and washing facilities, relying on the van but did, of course, use the toilet emptying point which was outside the washroom. Good area for visiting and all good shops nearby. For children there is a huge play area about three hundred metres away and an easy walk in traffic free paths.

Just love Germany so clean

Apart from some French attitudes....
Mitch.
In 45 years of regular travelling in France for business and pleasure by trains, car, m/h and motorbike I've never come across any unpleasantness whatsoever; quite the opposite in fact.

Most certainly, though not until it is considered safe so maybe Winter/Spring 2022.
We gave up tugging for that very reason, to go as we please, anywhere, because we can.....well, when we can.

I don't think anybody has mentioned the possible expense and faff of PCR tests in BOTH directions?

June for us hopefully, if not sooner and August/September time. Need to use the frequent travellers up 👍🏻👍🏻
