Europe

We will 'do' Europe again as soon as we are allowed, the thought of only staying in Britain is to horrible to even consider.
Totally agree, off the minute Macron opens the border, if I had to Motorhome in the uk I would sell tomorrow

Ah a bit misleading then😁😁, can anyone share the dimensions of the stickers for motorhomes and where to obtain them?
17x 25cm seems to be the size most sellers have. From what I have read on various posts we DO need to have them fitted if over 3500kg regardless of not being a bus or coach. There is conflicting views on this BUT for the cost of a few stickers is it worth the hassle. 👍
Few sellers on eBay, I ordered a job lot yesterday to get price down. Once received and if all ok I will offer the extras out at cost.

The adverts are marketing them as Bus and Truck stickers, up to the individual of course but they look horrible and there isnt really a blind spot for cyclists in a MH, you can see all the way up both sides at all times, not like an artic.

I am currently driving around France and I have not seen one on a motorhome, though they are on trucks. But aren't most French motorhomes plated to 3500kg because the French near-equivalent of a grandfathered C1 is much rarer?
Agreed but there are increasing numbers with larger Morelos, Concordes etc these days, mine was bought from a Frenchman

France loving motorhomers are you prepared to decorate your van up with this crap (new blind spot stickers)?
On French sites some say only required on French registered vehicles others say required by visitors.
Don't think I'll bother.

I suppose you could argue you could see both sides up a bus, coach etc regardless whether it’s a 52 seater or a humble 12 seater which would probably be around Moho size. I guess if it’s the law they will compel us to affix them whilst travelling in their country (when in Rome and all that) and if not, with U.K. plates as well, we could be easy pickings for the Gendarmes. As you rightly say everyone has a choice whether to wear them, and even for the 60km I’m in France I’m not giving them a reason to extract my euros off me👍😁😁

As a side note, I wonder what would happen if every country wanted them fitted in their own language in the country’s you visit🤪🤪🤪

Are you going to put all the speed limit stickers on the back as well?

But France is Motorhome Heaven.
So lots of people say, I have been a few times on the Harley, but I much prefer Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia👍👍

We'll be off as soon as its safe and legal to do so. Fingers crossed for late summer early autumn. Probably have a few short breaks in UK beforehand, but like I've said before, we, personally don't find the UK motorhome friendly.

Hoping to go in mid September.

Hopefully yes , Germany and the Benelux countries or the Iberian peninsula via the ferry .
Not to fussed about France

We’re chomping at the bit to use my left hooker abroad for the first time😁. We’re all booked for Croatia in June (if we ever get there).

Just tell the Gendarmes that you had yours done by Banksy and they got nicked!

I'll probably get them and put them in my locker, together with the seven year old unused set of beam benders. ;)

A major interest for me is being able to roam abroad at will, stopping on aires or 'informally', shopping at the markets to cook at the m/h, eating out in restos and visiting medieval interest sites. Therefore like many others, if I couldn't tour abroad and had to pre-plan routes and official sites in U.K. I'd probably give up and tour U.K. by motorbike and tent, or by car and hotels.

My plan is to go to my second home in Scotland once we can move around the UK, and then once we can go to Europe to spend 6 months plus touring in the EU until I feel my life is back on track.

Would anyone be taking a dog who have replied?
Ive got 2 with me in greece at present.

If the information discussed on another thread is correct ill just be making sure all their vaccines etc are done over here before i return to uk so as to keep their eu passports.

More stickers...........no thanks😂😂😂
