We did a few road trips in the US before we had a van. At the airport car rental on one of them they offered us a Japanese car and I said no thanks I want an American one to drive down Route 66. So they gave us a mustang instead. We drive it around California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and Nevada and felt so cool.I did some of the states a good few years back and loved every second of it, fantastic country and so vast & varied although we rented a van out there and spent 8 months on the road, naturally didn't see it all but got a fair bit around
Would I go again? Yes definitely in a heartbeat but think I'll wait another couple of years & if I'm still around I may actually properly retire for about the 5th time and hit the States again for a couple of years this time
Get your kicks on Route 66! Yee Haa!
It’s all choice, Tam might behave like he is broke, but that is just a Scottish way of expressing you are careful with money which is fine if that’s what’s making you happy, which obviously isn’t the case on this occasion, as people share their lives on open forums other people then give their opinions, , so many people offer various thoughts, my experience is that you have to make your own happiness, it will not be delivered by others, postponing things you really would like to do till later in life is not working out for many, me and my gorgeous wife had to drastically change plans because of serious illness, we are only a few years older then Tam, so my advice to him would be trying to figuring out what makes him happy and then just do it, by all means have a safety net but going loaded into your grave will bring little joy,Are you paying?
Good advise, hopefully we'll see the big man with a djellaba on cooking a nice tagine in a new tagine potIt’s all choice, Tam might behave like he is broke, but that is just a Scottish way of expressing you are careful with money which is fine if that’s what’s making you happy, which obviously isn’t the case on this occasion, as people share their lives on open forums other people then give their opinions, , so many people offer various thoughts, my experience is that you have to make your own happiness, it will not be delivered by others, postponing things you really would like to do till later in life is not working out for many, me and my gorgeous wife had to drastically change plans because of serious illness, we are only a few years older then Tam, so my advice to him would be trying to figuring out what makes him happy and then just do it, by all means have a safety net but going loaded into your grave will bring little joy,

I love spectacular nature and very old buildings, the nature side of things is very well catered for in Northern America , never mind bigots , they are an issue world wideI get the sentiment
But when I was a teenager and in my 20's I thought America was a dream country.
These days you couldn't pay me to go there.
Good music , good movies, they used to make good cars .
But that's it as far as I'm concerned, it's the most backward biggitted country on earth these days and I'd go anywhere before there.
But right now I'm going back to bed
Couldn't agree more about going to America, you just couldn't pay me enough to think about it but otherwise unless I have missed something, why are you suddenly sounding to be down, you are in the warm, you have a nice lady and your dogs to keep you happy you can just please yourself, what more do you want?I get the sentiment

Not as windy on the beach as it is in the townI’ve got sand everywhere in this wind in Tarifa..
I have been to Morocco many times - we used to fly there a lot as it is just next door, and to be honest, I think it's a dump. I'll not be going again any time soon.I'm also having real doubts about morroco , my last experience of Maroc was maybe 50/50 there were parts I loved but a lot I hated , wasn't overly keen on the morrocans themselves I felt I couldn't escape them or find peace anywhere. The stray dogs is upsetting, the waste is upsetting , and if I hadn't been travelling around with company I'd have left a lot sooner than I did , and I can see me being on my own a fair bit travelling round this time so I'm not sure. My main reason for going again truth be told is to have work done on the camper , staying out of shengen is the 2nd reason ....I'd be lying if I said I was going because I loved the country..... I don't, and this will probably be the last time I go.
It's full of AmericansYou only live once Tam, do something wild and ship your lot over to the USA and do a 2 year tour of North America, I have the feeling you might like that a lot more then Morocco
