Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

Yeah, I'm not interested in medication. I looked in to something I've worked around all my life because I saw the same thing in my niece and thought I might be able to help her out a bit. I sort of understand myself now but it has affected the whole of my life looking back. This may well be why I'm onemanandhisdog
Yeah I think it did me more harm than good and absolutely impossible these days as they'd never give enough to last me anyway . It does seem to be hereditary too as my son was diagnosed with it aged 7 and my mum always believed my dad had A.D.D ..
But who knows .... I was just thought to be disruptive for years before I was finally diagnosed. I spent a fair bit time in the hall at school

Northernraider Tam my Grandson has been officially diagnosed with ADHD and autism, I love him to bits he is 28 and only diagnosed two years ago but having the diagnosis has helped so much in understanding, I'm learning all the time one thing I don't know if you have noticed, if he's coming over and he's said Nan what can I do for you and it's arranged he will do it all really willingly and properly.

If he comes across and I say can you do this or that , then that he just can't do it there and then I think if things are planned then nothing is any trouble for him but in situations he wasn't planning makes him uncomfortable, it's a matter of understanding, with his Autism he can be amazing if he is interested then he will read and find everything out he looks after animals in his job Wolves Camels meerkats snakes etc, he can give talks on them his details is amazing, the same with the Moon and Stars so much retained knowledge but if he's not interested then that's it no inclination to learn about it.

I wonder if what is planned in your head then it doesn't work out like that then it's not easy to deal with. there's nothing to be done about it it's just the way it is, another thing is I've said something then it doesn't happen then it takes a bit of adjusting to, until you actually live it and care then it is hard to understand how it affects you, I'm still learning but without some knowledge it's easy to misunderstand.

Sorry for rambling on but maybe some of it will make sense to you.

I know you don’t do the Facebook but there some great groups and videos on there that I find really helpful in nderstanding and managing / explaining myself.

I came off the face then created another account in a pseudonym. I don’t have any friends on there d just join the groups I want. It is doable without it getting all Facebooky.
Our brain just isn’t built for the neurotypical society but we are much better at some things. Just not relationships and reading people myself 😆 . A very wise friend once said to me, “neurodiversity doesn’t excuse behaviour, but sometimes it can help explain it. Good luck

Yes exactly Carol. ....that's why I struggle sometimes when people spot me somewhere and just come say hello etc ...I get caught off guard and can be quite standoffish.. If I'm Aware of it then it's not so bad ..but that said I can often get anxious about serious stuff that is planned beforehand. Which is where the confusion and frustration comes from at times

Yes relationships haven't worked for me neither, even when I've been upfront about it beforehand it starts out fine then it gradually becomes a nightmare.

I don't have the self control for Facebook I get dragged in to stuff.

That's why I very rarely venture off my own thread on here .. I'll occasionally comment on the odd one here and there but very few .
