Good advise from Carol there Tam, between walking my dogs, jumping in and out of vans and using my machines at work I bought a couple of pairs of knee supports and absolutely love them I wear them most days now and they are great even good for driving and you know me I don't give a feck what they or I look like ( in fact I think I look quite sporty spice with them on!)Tam a slightly different slant on the knee situation I know it's not the best look but could you wear knee supports when out on long walks believe me I would protect my knees as much as possible at the minute I'm permanently in a wheelchair if I want to go out, and can only walk around the bungalow with a walker I'm waiting for two new knees, until you find a solution with the dogs protect your knees as much as you can.
Yes, old plate from Alicante. Was the Spartan kit car Spanish registered?
Another vote for knee supports, really do help.Good advise from Carol there Tam, between walking my dogs, jumping in and out of vans and using my machines at work I bought a couple of pairs of knee supports and absolutely love them I wear them most days now and they are great even good for driving and you know me I don't give a feck what they or I look ( in fact I think I look quite sporty with them on!) Our Minky does that and being small is even harder to get hold of, like trying to catch a piglet! Our solution is for her to wear a lightweight harness with a 4ft tether trailing (you'd need a bit longer for Blu to allow for the height ), it means we can usually stand on the tether to snaffle her.Try to grap her and she will stay just out of reach .
I tried knee supports after a while they made the back of my knee sore. Heard an interview with Ron Hill Olympic Marathon runner he swore by Glucosamine, tried them after 2weeks no painAnother vote for knee supports, really do help.
How's yer shoulders laughing boy?That’s funny…
I don’t seem to have this problem when I walk the dogs….
Nice one, what car is that? Looks lovely
I had a friend who was big into kit cars. He called these 'spat ons' thoughSpartan kit car!..sad to say I had one of those many years ago.

Lovely pics Tam, we have done that walk many times.Walked the 8km along to benalmedina today with ela and blu , Jackie spent the day on the beach , jade is feeling poorly so she and milo stayed in the van and the 2 bigguns and I went a walk . Was quite good with just the two of them for the day . Stopped for a pint on the way . She is yes , a big lovable loving goofball who's highly intelligent but nae common sense. But i think she will grow in to a fabulous dog when she matures a bit.Fabulous pic of Blu & you
In the nicest possible way - she's a bit of a 'donkey' isn't she !
I have a dodgy knee going up steps/stairs. I was a bit concerned going to Peru earlier this year, so I got one of those support things. Seemed to help a bit, and also, bizarrely, my knee felt 'stronger' when I took it off.
For the price of them, it's worth a try.

She's a beauty
Sounds like a "martingale" style.managed to get one of those collars this morning that has the material 3/4 of the way round then there's a bit of a chain at the back that tightens if she pulls .. but the chain itself goes nowhere near her neck so the only difference from her normal collar is that it tightens a bit
Aye that's the one ...couldn't remember the name of itSounds like a "martingale" style.
Hopefully it will help.
We had a Staffie years ago ,she would relentlessly pull on a collar and lead.So I bought her a harness, she never pulled again whist wearing it,might be worth a tryAfter getting some supplies at mercadonna I'm now in torremolinos. Probably be here till Christmas now unless somewhere else catches my eye . But its unlikely. I've a nice sea view from my park up View attachment 991598
Now on another note I wanted to ask doggy owners thoughts and opinions on those anti pull chain type collars you get. Now I've never used them as I'm unsure , but here's the thing . In the last year I have felt a severe change in my knees , the constant pulling from blu and ela I'm struggling to take and it seems no matter what I do it's relentless . Blu is by far the worst but ela will attempt to compete with her and frankly if it doesn't stop soon I can see me having issues before too long . As it is it makes walking with them unpleasant at times.
Now I see these collars for sale everywhere so I'm assuming they aren't illegal or harmful to use short term and I'm hoping that if I got one for each of them that it would only take a week or two for them to learn to stop pulling .
I've tried them with harnesses and frankly they're worse . They can then get their shoulders behind it .
My knees are throbbing from the last few days walking . I'm practically at a 45° angle at times.
So who uses them ? Have you had much success. The last thing I need is replacement knees before I'm 60 and the way it's going I'll be lucky to see that
Tried them on normal harnesses and they all pull on them .We had a Staffie years ago ,she would relentlessly pull on a collar and lead.So I bought her a harness, she never pulled again whist wearing it,might be worth a try
Steady on Tam that twice you have spent money in a bar, the Scots will be disowning you.Walked the 8km along to benalmedina today with ela and blu , Jackie spent the day on the beach , jade is feeling poorly so she and milo stayed in the van and the 2 bigguns and I went a walk . Scandalous tae that pont cost me €5 ......and the miserable git only gave the dogs an ashtray of water .Another one who uses knee supports a lot, always wear them when dancing or walking, no problems when cycling.

That often happens accidentally anyway when they jump around so they're used to just lifting their leg back out of the lead , they're always tangledTam have you tried having the leader under one of the front legs instead of the usual straight from collar to your hand?
This is the only thing that stops our springer pulling.
When they do start to pull you only raise the leader and it puts pressure on the collar but in a downward movement while the pressure on the leg is something new for them. Doesn’t hurt or put pressure on the neck/throat area.
Using this with voice command you should be able to see some improvement
You do need to keep it taught but not so they fight it.That often happens accidentally anyway when they jump around so they're used to just lifting their leg back out of the lead , they're always tangled
