I think in 3 visits to Greece with our MH I have not seen any signs.

The general prohibition sounds a bit like the ex-communist countries of eastern Europe which passed a law decades ago to stop people parking near sensitive military instillations to prevent spying, just like the Greek signs prohibiting photographing near military sites. Certainly in Poland, which has a similar law, nobody takes a blind bit of notice.

I find it hard to understand in any country how, if a MH is parked where cars are permitted, the law can prohibit a MH parking there, since both are Category M1 vehicles, albeit 'Motorcaravans are M1 (Special Purpose). the law would have to specify.

I go to a Greek island where there has not been a campsite, which was really for tents, which closed 10 years ago. If the police wanted to enforce the no wildcamping law they could deny disembarkation from the ferry, but since we are usually the only MH on the island I doubt whether they can be ar*ed to bother.
As I said just Google wild camping or free camping Greece. You'll see its illegal although it's generally ignored outwith tourist areas . I've not had any problems in Greece but there are signs , not as many as other places but they are there. Monemvasia is a good example where there's lots of signs and they enforce them regularly even in winter.

Personally I agree with you if the motorhome is just parked same as the car next to it then its discrimination to say the motorhome is camping.

But if there are chairs tables bbq etc outside then it's harder to argue...even if there's people with cars sat out on chairs...that's just the way the authorities look at it. I don't agree with it but what can you do.

But most folk will then try to be discrete or whatever to try and not bring further restrictions. Then there's others like these buggers today who don't care and cause more restrictions.

We've stayed there a few times. The last thing we all want is some bellend to draw attention. Especially when there are plenty of bars/restaurants to sit outside in the sun and have a cheap, quiet drink. With the odd free tapas thrown in.

Have to agree Dave

especially in the marina as more or less every bar chucks Tapas at you and it’s good Tapas as well in our opinion. 👍

Think I would go somewhere else, I couldn't relax there.
Not to mention the fire hazard. We once stayed a night in a place like that and my neighbour asked why was I cooking when it's cheaper to dine out and I said there was no way I would leave my dog alone in a potential death trap. We left first thing in the morning.

Great photos once again Tam. In 2004, just where you are, I found a couple who had been stealing from a catamaran moored in Agua Dulce. I recognised them cos he was British and she Maltese.
I phoned the owner and he drove across, turned out they had sailed together for two years. When I challenged the couple they nearly died on the spot.
Graham had all his kit returned and financial compensation. I had the job of repairing the damage ha ha

That’s right where we are now, €13 a night services and showers/toilets, I’ve been here a few times before and last year around the same time… never used/seen the shower before but we are tonight…🤔💦💦

Must drop in price in December then.

It doesn't here in spain. Parking is allowed.anything that is classed as "camping "is banned. That means no step , no shoes left outside ,no side windows open ,no awning etc . roof lights can be opened. the vehicle can be slept in the same as any parked car.
It’s all a bit confusing. If you stay overnight is that not camping. 🤔
as above ,no.You can sleep in a car in any street
Some drunk bloke falls down in a parking spot and decides to sleep it off there…. Is he camping…😂🤣😉
reminds me of the Moroccans that sleep ,head facing east, alongside, behind ,in front of there vehicles in car parks.I nearly ran one over around 3am in France:xlaugh:

The only thing we do when ‘off site’ parking overnight in Spain is we do put the levellers down sometimes. It’s discrete so we don’t feel like we are breaking the rules!

The amount of ‘camping behaviour’ we see as we park is bloody frustrating as it’s likely to lead to restrictions if it’s not sorted out! It’s hard to police and frankly, the other nationalities (although not exclusively just them, some Brits are guilty too) who seem to ‘camp’ wherever, are creating an issue that, IMHO will result in restrictions soon! 😢

Richard, yes I understand that but I was referring to countries like Greece and Poland, and others which have a blanket ban, which they consider applies to motor caravans but not to cars, both in the Category M1.

Moved on today to malaga , filled up with lpg diesel and water on route. Parked up far end of malaga on the beach and met up with Jackie this afternoon
