I was surprised last year on christmas day to find no vans whatsoever on the beach opposite Bella Vista?

I don't know where Bella Vista is? I'm thinking about the beach where Chiriquito beach bar is just up the road from Annibal?

Unfortunately, we get a certain type of motorhomer in southern Spain at this time of year. The long stayers in one spot, who don't abide by the rules. You can't really only blame them, the authorities have passed rules but don't enforce them. The coast is already getting rammed, I hate to think what it'll be like after Christmas. We stay well away. Unfortunately (again) the inland spots are also now being sought out and they're filling up as well.

Pleased we don't come over until April now, don't get much of those problem then.

Not if I can avoid but I'm on holiday so I ain't parking in the street.

We were at Bella Vista earlier in the year, on the site, no vans down by the beach but they had had rain and it was very muddy, they were being move off when we were there a couple of years ago.

Well like I said , nowt to do with time of year. The coastal places that are busy at this time of year are banned during the busy times of the year.

So in winter they're packed full and in April they're banned.

I could squeeze in the packed places but I'd rather not. So quiet street parking is my choice.

No desire to sit outside the van or bbq etc

Fair bit of walking today ... been along to aquadulce this morning then to the other end of roquetas this afternoon

Stopped for a cerveza y aqua para mi pero ....and decided to have a couple of tapas too ...turned in 2 two beers , pollo tiryaki and patata bravas...

Kids were bored and misbehaving as usual





And then back to the camper. Just smiffy and cintia here now too so had a glass of wine and a natter with them .
Might be best to leave his door till tomorrow

I remember that fort at Roquetas been constructed. One day there was nothing, few weeks later it was finished. New roads were quickly layed, new roundabout and lorry loads of big palm trees planted!
None of it would last long in our climate. Good luck to you all

I do actually enjoy stopping for a beer or a coffee when I'm out and about .... its absolutely never about the money but more how difficult it can sometimes be alone with 4 dogs . Relaxing it Is not . I did it more when I just had jade and milo , and I often feel I miss out SO I'm making a point of trying to do it more often in the hope the dogs will at somepoint calm down and give me peace. Its always easier when someone else is there.

But I'm destined to be single for eternity lol so I have to just get on with it.

Well, I only have one dog but he just finds someone else's dog to play with like that, today it was a Frenchie or possibly a Boston terrier in a coffee shop, both were willing parties and it entertained the whole shop

Yes mine often entertain others until they start barking loudly or get tangled in tables and spill things. Then they're not so entertaining.

Just looked at Google maps there it nearly doubles the travel time to go to channel tunnel via Basingstoke instead of just down M1 and over the Dartford bridge to Kent,
You'll have to get it sent somewhere Tam or if it can get taken closer to my route I'll happily pick it up

not sure if this is sorted now (haven't read whole thread) but I'm in Wokingham so can pick up from Basingstoke - under 20 miles - and we leave for Moroccco on 2nd Jan via Calais, France (west route) and then Algeciras via Madrid and Granada, if any of that helps !

I mean personally I think the height barriers and the ban from parking there is unnecessary and pointless

BUT

This is why it becomes frustrating, if you're going to make rules , erect signs etc etc then enforce them all the time or just don't bother.

Because I'm sat here waiting on loads of other vans now following their lead.

But the same thing happens with the shitty no dogs on beach rule.

Locals all ignore it but I had 2 cops on motor scooters stop and tell me "no pero en de playa " when I pointed to the several local people further down the beach with dogs he just repeated the statement then rode off , so I just went back on the beach with the dogs.

Too many stupid rules .

I would love everyone to ignore the stupid rules because if everyone did it the rules would soon dissappear. But no one wants to be the scapegoat that gets the fine
