Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

That was a quick visit to aldi never to be repeated lol .... Jeeso what an overpriced shitty selection.

I'm crabit today . Gonna have some lunch while I decide where to head next . Still need laundry but unless a parking space outside it has appeared while I have lunch ill just be leaving it till another day

Oh and I've got a feckin leaking cold water hose to my shower which I need to sort too. Only leaks when the boiler is on...must be a pressure thing
We had that problem on the Hymer, whereupon I had to remove the screw caps, screws, and cut the silicon sealant on the cover, just to get to the jubilee clips which both needed tightening, but especially so the one on the hot water supply side.
I then went round tightening every jubilee clip I could find on the water system, and every one on the hot side needed tightening the most due to expansion and contraction from the heat over the years.

Good luck with it Tam. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I can get to the back of it through the wardrobe fortunately. I'm just hoping giving it a few turns will stop the leak rather than having to remove the hose etc.

We had a leak on our shower from under mixer , if we left the head on holder when turned off , but ok if layed shower head on shower tray.
I fitted a new cheap Screwfix cartridge in tap part and that cured it

It seems to just be where the hose connects on this . There's access to it but it's tight.

So hopefully this goes well today. You couldn't walk off the street in to any dentist in the UK and be seen same day never mind have a crown refitted etc .
Did that in Germany when I lost a filling walked into a dentist and got an appointment for 2 hours later.
Don't really have any problems with our NHS one, had a problem a few weeks ago, I phoned them on the Friday got an appointment for Monday.

Tam had the same thing happened in our shower about 2 am it made a lot of noise the pipe was flailing about sounded like a machine gun rattling.
This was just doing a drip a second and in to the double floor under wardrobe but only did it when boiler was on , soon as that was switched off the drip stopped. But I did get several turns on the hose clip so it was fairly loose.

My NHS dentist was great and I'd had her for years .. so when she moved practice the first time I moved with her to keep the same dentist and that was fine ...but then over the last 4 year's she's moved practice's another 3 times and I've not discovered that till I got back to UK each time and then of course that practice prioritises it's exsisting patients so getting an appointment with her was a nightmare. And then since mum died I've not been back in Scotland so that's 14/15 months now.

Depending where I get work next year will also mean it's unlikely I'll see my own dentist. One of the downsides I guess of a nomadic lifestyle. So I'll try and get an appointment for that dentist again in March I think and get the other work I need done before I get back to UK

Dentists are voting with their feet and going private only because they don't get paid enough for NHS work!

Interesting how many dental practices are now badged BUPA which of course specialises in private medical practice, surgery, hospitals, independent private medical examinations for corporates and individuals.

If you can get another appointment in a week or so is it not worth hanging around or poping back.
No as I'm not in a desperate rush and I want to get further south. I could probably find another dentist further down if need be but there's no panic. These fillings have been missing over a year already . Another few weeks or months won't make much difference

Yes she's explained that she asked staff if they wanted to work but they said no so she do it herself. I'm grateful as it's fixed now.

2 fillings, root canal treatment, a post cemented in and my crown re attached.

I have other fillings needing done but no more time today but I could go back I think .

So €270 for today which I've no idea if it's good or not because I've not seen a dentist in so long , but it was maybe 90 minutes in total she was working on my teeth.

All feels good at moment but my face is still all numb 🤣🤣 can't feel my nose
Tam I had an emergency appointment for a filling here in the UK £386

Just a filling?

That's obscene

Last filling I had done In UK was about £30
Emergency Appointment was £125 filling £250 only charged £11 for the xray
I almost collapsed in the chair
My Mrs went to the same bupa dentist had a filling about 2 months later had a nhs appointment which was £14.95

That's a ridiculous price.

I can’t get an NHS dentist last check up was £96 private, it’s ridiculous. That’s for a check up, luckily we have a healthcare scheme at work that pays £60 per year for dental so it cost £36.

I never asked what a filling or extraction would be but let’s just say I’ve bought a pair of pliers from the car boot last week.

Good old England, work all your life, pay taxes and get nothing. Ive used all my healthcare scheme allowance so half a bottle of vintage port, 5 bottles of old peculiar will have to be had.

Left mazarron and headed up to the IKEA aire at Murcia as I thought it was the best place to do multiplied things but jeeso that's turned out to be a crap idea.

I was lucky enough to get right in to a service bay to empty and fill which was lucky as there's more vans here than ever , I really don't understand the apeal of longstaying here but the usual suspects do , tables chairs and bikes galore , it is a bit of a ghetto looking place. Well over 250 vans here today, many I recognise from previous trips , some very big rigs.

I wanted the big Chinese bazzarre....its closed down ☹️
Wanted the laundrette ....can't get parked near the bloody thing
Wanted mercadonna.... can't get parked anywhere near it either and I've too much to get to be hauling it half a mile back to the van.
Can't get parked at lidl either

So I'm back up at the shitty aire parked I'm aldi carpark and they're going to get my custom today as the only carpark that doesn't have height barriers etc.

I love mercadonna and was always my supermarket of choice in Spain but on this trip I've managed to get parked at only one so far so lidl has been getting my custom.

They're missing a trick because I think a lot of motorhomes want parked near the shop .

So a pretty unsuccessful day all in

Off tae aldi
The IKEA parking area sounds awful.

It is bleeding awful . I decided to park on the roadside by the launderette and the dog park where at least I'm the only camper. It's quieter too. The aire is handy for the services but that can be frustrating too as I had to tell one German to go away when I was filling my tank as he walked over with 6 x 8 litre bottles to fill up and expected to disconnect my hose in order to do it. There's meant to be a 72 hour time limit on the aire but there's vans there that stay for months. Hence there being another 100 or so vans spilled out on to the rest of the carpark.

There's loads of other parking spots around that's better if you want to visit the city . Many a lot closer than that aire too.

Cloudy overcast day today and there were dozens of vans with folk say outside on chairs in what's essentially a car park surrounded by shops lol. Solar panels out etc. Its worse everytime I've been to it.

I had a similar problem at the black waste in Italy. A German grabbed the hose while I was emptying and managed to soak my feet. I asked what he thought he was doing. He laughed, in hindsight I think because I’d made him nervous. Couldn’t help myself I shouted at him and squirted him with the hose. Unusual for me to react like that but it just happened. Anyway he wandered off and didn’t seem to hold a grudge. All very strange.

Unfortunately, we get a certain type of motorhomer in southern Spain at this time of year. The long stayers in one spot, who don't abide by the rules. You can't really only blame them, the authorities have passed rules but don't enforce them. The coast is already getting rammed, I hate to think what it'll be like after Christmas. We stay well away. Unfortunately (again) the inland spots are also now being sought out and they're filling up as well.
