Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

This wee dentist is running around ragged , she's just here herself no receptionist no dental nurse etc . So she's doing everything herself including answering the phone lol. Gotta admire that as again in the UK you'd never get that.

It's still officially a holiday today so she probably can't ask the others to work. It's her dental practice so she can work if she wants.

Yes she's explained that she asked staff if they wanted to work but they said no so she do it herself. I'm grateful as it's fixed now.

2 fillings, root canal treatment, a post cemented in and my crown re attached.

I have other fillings needing done but no more time today but I could go back I think .

So €270 for today which I've no idea if it's good or not because I've not seen a dentist in so long , but it was maybe 90 minutes in total she was working on my teeth.

All feels good at moment but my face is still all numb 🤣🤣 can't feel my nose

Compared to the example appydaze gave earlier.......

Just had a filling at local dentist, no drilling or injections, 25 quid for making an appointment and 260 quid for filling. I was out in 30 mins.
Its almost worth going abroad just for that.........
.......I'd say you did very well there Tam. 👍

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Had to be done regardless as I had 2 front teeth missing which wasn't only uncomfortable but looked terrible. So hopefully it's in there a long time.

Can't remember when that crown was originally fitted but i think at least 10 years ago.

Not sure how much each thing cost .

If it had to be done then you have to pay. I think you got a good deal and hope all stays in place for many years.

I went for my annual check up trip to the dentist last week. I knew I had a dodgy tooth giving me Jip now and then. He said the filling has split and it’s a big filling so it will be £200. I asked if he warm up in the morning and work faster so it would be cheaper. 😂

€270 (about £223) is an absolute bargain for the work you had done! (y)

I know it's a lot of money, but absolutely great value for dentistry IMHO. :giggle:

Vet prices are extortionate too

That's why there's no poor dentists and no poor vets
My old dentist went private only 7 years ago and there were no dentists taking on NHS patients in the area ,so I didn't have a dentist for 3 years.
4 years ago I moved and am still unable to get an NHS dentist to take me on.
So 7 years without a dentist.
Dentistry in Wales is a shambles.
Earlier this year I was told I needed a knee replacement, Welsh NHS expected waiting time 4 years unless I pay to go private 😮

I needed the same done last winter in Benidorm Paul. I just called in on the off chance of making an appointment, but was seen there and then. 😲 In less than an hour I was all done and €75 lighter, which was less than half what my UK dentist charged, but her work didn't even last 3 x months, whereas the Spanish filling is still going strong. 👍

Cheers,

Jock. :)
That was a right result Jock! Shame our dentists over here don't have the same ethos. It'll probably last longer as well? Hope you're keeping well?

I paid for private consultations twice. They came up with basically the same treatment plan. Both times my GP has been supportive and pleased with the consultation report. Both times the local NHS hospital have ignored the private reports and continued repeating tests that are always negative
I think I have had one of the tests 9 times now. 25 months since an emergency 2 week referral, being admitted in a coma and no further forward except two of my key blood results are less than 1/4 normal and less than 5% normal.
:(

Spoke to the dentist again today to see if I could perhaps get an appointment to have another couple of fillings done but they have no more appointments this week so will have to leave it. None are giving me trouble so it's not too bad , I cam always try when I'm coming back this way in March.

Just smiffy popped by earlier but they've moved on again as too far from a restaurant that's open here ...
I will probably head up to Murcia tomorrow to the IKEA aire as I need a launderette and a fill and dump point and I'll do some shopping too probably stay overnight And then I'll be moving further down coast, I might pop past and visit gus-lopez if you're around Richard... but might have to park somewhere and walk or scoot there as not sure I'd get parked.

Jackie phoned today... she's still at her friend Jane's near malaga for a few days , says she's twisted her knee and it's the size of a melon 😱

I just timed myself there putting scooter back in to garage as it used to take ages putting it on or off the rack on the back of the euramobil.

So from opening door, removing padlock etc from scooter, open garage door, put ramp out , push scooter in, secure with 2 ratchet straps , put helmet away , put ramp away and secure it , shut door and back inside the van . 4 minutes 12 seconds.

That's about 1/5 of the time it took to put scooter on the rack and secure it. .

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Only thing I miss with this scooter is no rack or top box... if I could find a yard that breaks scooters and mopeds I'd maybe be able to pick a rack up..

All feels good , I do have a very slight wobble on the crown but I'm not sure if that's where the post is fixed or if it's the actual tooth the post is fixed in to but it is a very slight bit of movement. Otherwise its all good. I will be passing back up this way in March anyway unless I decide to explore a bit of Portugal and inland Spain so if any issues I will go back

Ask gus-lopez for recommendations?

Is it normal practice to park in front of peoples houses at coastal resorts.
Not if they're occupied, where we stop they are they are raised above pavement level and we've never seen the bottom apartments in use.

Left mazarron and headed up to the IKEA aire at Murcia as I thought it was the best place to do multiplied things but jeeso that's turned out to be a crap idea.

I was lucky enough to get right in to a service bay to empty and fill which was lucky as there's more vans here than ever , I really don't understand the apeal of longstaying here but the usual suspects do , tables chairs and bikes galore , it is a bit of a ghetto looking place. Well over 250 vans here today, many I recognise from previous trips , some very big rigs.

I wanted the big Chinese bazzarre....its closed down ☹️
Wanted the laundrette ....can't get parked near the bloody thing
Wanted mercadonna.... can't get parked anywhere near it either and I've too much to get to be hauling it half a mile back to the van.
Can't get parked at lidl either

So I'm back up at the shitty aire parked I'm aldi carpark and they're going to get my custom today as the only carpark that doesn't have height barriers etc.

I love mercadonna and was always my supermarket of choice in Spain but on this trip I've managed to get parked at only one so far so lidl has been getting my custom.

They're missing a trick because I think a lot of motorhomes want parked near the shop .

So a pretty unsuccessful day all in

Oh and I've got a feckin leaking cold water hose to my shower which I need to sort too. Only leaks when the boiler is on...must be a pressure thing

Off tae aldi
