I feel sorry for them . Many have a lousy life here.
I truly believe that when you get fed up of your nomadic lifestyle, you'll end up on a plot of land somewhere running an animal sanctuary

How is the training going with Blu on the new lead. Might be easier to swop for a donkey. 👍
Haven't used the collar much to be honest as I forget to put it on her.

It's the constant foraging and eating crap off the beaches here that's driving me crazy . Blu and ela in particular..Muzzles are the next thing

As I have been advising people for some time, one option is to apply for Residence in an EU country. That would give you unlimited time in that country. In theory you would be restricted to 90/180 in the other Schengen countries, but with no internal border checks in practice that is not enforceable nor enforced. We spent more than 90 days outside Poland this year. It was in two trips so after the first trip, with no checks, we knew that there was no record of that trip, so it had not happened.

You would have to decide which country to pick in respect of re-registering the MH and yourself, and Spain and Portugal seem to be especially difficult. Maybe Greece or one of the smaller countries like Slovakia.

You would need a nominal address, but maybe some kind MHFun member could oblige.

I found it was very easy here even though I have no property rights here, neither rental nor ownership, If asked if you have a property or are 'Resident' in any other country(UK has no official status of 'Resident) you can truthfully say 'No'

You would have to do research into which country suits you.

Geoff

Just to clarify, if you’re an EU resident or EU passport holder you are not restricted to 90/180 in any EU member state. You are restricted (theoretically) to 90 days before you must leave that EU member territory (or register your presence with officialdom), which could be for as little as one day to reset the 90 day clock. It’s not therefore the same as 90/180.

I HTH to clarify Geoffs point above! ✔️

I think the excessive foraging comes from having been a stray and known real hunger.
Our Gus was a stray in Spain and is a perfect dog apart from foraging.
It's a pain trying to walk through a town with him, particularly near benches and pavement cafés.
When he first came to us, he used to try to scrape old chewing gum off the pavement.
I don't think they ever forget that hunger.

Apart from ela none of mine were stray long enough to have experienced real hunger. And ela was on a beach with dozens of campers there daily who would feed her.

It's just dog mentality I think ... they'll eat any crap they find outside.

We had an adopted stray, Newfoundland cross, who would eat anything. Once saw her swallow a dead rabbit whole headfirst, probably not recently dead either. Didn't upset her tum at all, though she missed a meal as I thought she'd had enough.

Yep, mine has been born in to a luxurious life of retirement, never worked a day in his life, never had to find his own food, but is happy to supplement his Fortnum and Masons lifestyle with any old sh*t, litterally!
Now you have spoken about your son how’s the dog getting on ;)

Its not the foraging I Mind it's the throwing up in the camper or a dose of the shits I've to clean up that I object to. If they didn't do that I'd rarely know they've eaten anything. Also the worry of fish hooks, poison etc

But it's hard to stop one dog doing it never mind 4.

Well - you know it will be fresh! Whilst caught in a snowstorm cross the Atlas mountains a guy went past with a sheep on a lead awhile later he came back with the sheep oven ready steaming in a wheelbarrow.

Morning walkies and windmills

I moved on after that , I drove through sidi kouki, the campsite I stayed on one night last time doesn't seem to be there anymore and the wild spot I stayed on at the beach was also not there. So I just drove through it and headed to Tafedna which I thought I'd come to last time but I've not been here before. A very small village beneath a cliff and a huge sandy beach. There's 2 parking here one on a tarmac carpark which is very busy and a bit on rough ground by the beach where there are only 5 or 6 other campers so I parked up here. There's at least 30 strays in the village and by the tarmac parking but only a few at this spot ...4 or 5 adults and a couple of puppies. I've gave a few some breakfast. Also half a dozen very friendly donkeys so I've had pets and cuddles from them too . They've eaten 2 of my bananas and drank my glass of squash and soaked my chair when they spilt it. But they are very cute and such placid animals ...

Planning to stay here a few days . My brakes were not good on the descent to this village...pedal wasn't fading bit it just wasn't stopping the van at all .. pressure was there bit like there was no friction.

Bit daunting so definitely needs more investigation. Wishing I had got a master cylinder in Spain incase it is that

Red Leceister cheese, your coffee and whatever other stuff is already in the van for you is on the way & a special wee present for Garry Just- Smiffy too
