Pretty sure very little has been altered but , for example , if there was a sewing machine in a house you can't enter it makes sense to place it in the garden .OK dokey
For anyone that hasn't visited or like me hadn't even heard of oradour-sur-glane before rather than me attempt to tell the story I've read quite a bit online about it and found this Wikipedia page to be very informative, the background story and the trials etc afterwards were incredibly interesting.

I have to admit I had a few similar thoughts as Just smiffy with regards to why certain things have been altered and deliberately placed in some places. I didn't go in to the memorial visitor centre , I preferred to just read about it online and have a walk around , I did have a look in the small underground memorial place by the cemetery and a look around the cemetery itself , I didn't take any photos in there though as it didn't seem right . When you read down the names on the plaques though and see the vast amount of children it's quite horrifying.
I've been I've saw but I've no desire to return .
