DO I have to buy it now?

You may laugh but I have converted the generator to gas so is great for keeping freezers going and for stops en route, just like having an EHU ;)
that genny would use more gas to keep the fridge going than the fridge would use
There is a full thread on that I’m not repeating myself sorry, my keyboard is wearing out!
not quick enuff though

I’m really not getting the answers I want to hear, let’s got some things absolutely clear so you can understand, these are NON negotiable.

We spend 6 weeks in one place in France, same place every year
We can not afford or want to stay in a hotel
We could stay in a shack for £2,500 a week but that is dead money so NO
I am not spending over £100,000 on a van just to sleep in for 6 weeks a year
I will not stay in an fffing tent, I want aircon
We MUST go to this bloody place
I want in excess of 1,000kg payload (see below)
Must sleep 6
Must have 6 seat belts

These are negotiable:
My wife is very fat so I fly her down so I can take her Fray Bentos supply, she could come in new van as over 1,000kg plus will increase that
The type of van or model
The rear lounge but must have lots of room

So SENSIBLE answers on a post please, Thanks
Yawn.... these threads are simply repetitive and quite frankly boring.

If you don't like a thread, a forum or a person you can easily ignore it/them. If rather than ignore, you would prefer to be rude, then expect to be banned, there is no need for it. Thanks

How do you do the 'ignore' thing please. It was funny, just not any more!

Appreciate your position Jim but the OP has created 3 threads about a van he has not yet bought. Apart from selling his 'beloved van' to buy a heap of sh.. - his words he looks forward to his inlaws demise and says his wife flys because she is too fat and that affects his payload. It is an interesting and amusing thread but some on here are taking it litrerally and get upset. If it's a wind up it's clever, if it's not it's quite sad. I hope nobody gets banned but I think the OP is looking for reaction and is getting it - he's a new member rattling a lot of cages - why?
I still hope he will continue to post, I find the whole thing interesting/amusing - afterall many only use their MHs once a year

What you say is correct and reasonable Jim. However, I think it's fair to say that this particular individual's posts are disjointed, often without logic, somewhat attention seeking, controversial and dare I say, unbelievable.

The result of such posting is that passionate members start to get p###ed off with his indulgent attempts at hijacking the forum so understandably (in my opinion) become irritated. I accept he's done nothing wrong under forum rules but there must surely come a point whereas if a member is not contributing in a productive way then their motives should be questioned. This forum is far too good to endure the likes of those that use it for exploitative entertainment and that's exactly what I feel this poster is doing.

All said, I could be completely wrong ?

But there's no one holding a gun to folks head to respond to him.

i did say 'coolbox' type..

and presumably you also have a convential built in fridge freezer too in your van?

i was just wondering how you managed to store enough chilled/frozen/dairy/fruit/veg food for the six people that you take for the six weeks..

but if you have so many of the 'coolbox' type compressor ones that must explain also why you have to have such a large payload, just trying to understand your requirements..

Maybe has one of these

Converted .

I have to admit that I enjoy reading his threads. It is all tongue in cheek and can be quite humorous.
If you look at the amount of views to his threads they are very popular.
You have to have a peek to read all the responses, which are mostly funny.

Chris, if you put him on your ignore list, I bet you still have a peek.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Oh Please! Chris, this is a SERIOUS question, I’m about to transfer a lot of money for something I don’t really want but NEED for a purpose, I just hope the outlaws don’t die any time soon as I will be selling it they day they do ?
I used to call them outlaws until someone pointed out that outlaws are wanted people!!!!

Sorry that is my limit, I want to have a life as well not just look out and see a huge depreciating asset on my drive. If the outlaws were younger then maybe but they look close to death so 3 yrs max and my nightmare of 6 bloody weeks roasting on a beach in France will be over hopefully ?
Smaller m/h plus trailer . If you only do a trip there and back each year going a bit slower will be no problem then the payload issue is easy.

Especially if wife is in the trailer!
(sorry couldn’t resist)
If by any small chance this is not a wind up thread Car and Caravan the answer as said before!!

596 do you have the option not to proceed even after you have purchased all of the accessories and arranged various modifications?

Which dealer are you buying from, will they release your deposit without any issues?

She doesn’t look fat to me! In fact she looks posively thin and petite! Methinks our friend does sport with us all by the medium of the computing trolling box!

I am firmly in the”like” camp. The OP’s posting remind me of some Private Eye” letters and articles. Maybe he is Ian Hislop or Richard Ingrams. I have warmed to him over the course of reading his posts. I also really enjoy the fact that many of the responses continue to take his original posts and further comments at face value, even when they veer to the unbelievable. Like many threads on this great forum, the OP’s posts are only half the “fun” the participation of and “advice” from fellow Funsters adds value.

Edit...
Sorry 596, it could be considered rude to post on your thread referring to you in the third person. As you will note you have a balanced audience with plenty of us appreciating your threads. I don’t comment often as I don’t move in your rarefied circles (but wish I did) but I always read them.
