Sorry that is my limit, I want to have a life as well not just look out and see a huge depreciating asset on my drive. If the outlaws were younger then maybe but they look close to death so 3 yrs max and my nightmare of 6 bloody weeks roasting on a beach in France will be over hopefully ?

I’m really not getting the answers I want to hear, let’s got some things absolutely clear so you can understand, these are NON negotiable.

We spend 6 weeks in one place in France, same place every year
We can not afford or want to stay in a hotel
We could stay in a shack for £2,500 a week but that is dead money so NO
I am not spending over £100,000 on a van just to sleep in for 6 weeks a year
I will not stay in an fffing tent, I want aircon
We MUST go to this bloody place
I want in excess of 1,000kg payload (see below)
Must sleep 6
Must have 6 seat belts

These are negotiable:
My wife is very fat so I fly her down so I can take her Fray Bentos supply, she could come in new van as over 1,000kg plus will increase that
The type of van or model
The rear lounge but must have lots of room

Isn’t there a way of enticing the elderly outlaws over to Englandshire for a few months each year ?. You’d still have to put up with the grief but at least not the 30 degree heat! Think of the saving on fuel transporting FB pies ?

I was hoping the heat would kill them off but unfortunately they seem to thrive on it, this year was their 40th year on the same pitch under the same friggin tree, I have been drawn down for 9 bloody years, same place, same bloody pitch, same hot sandy bloody beach I only go there for my wife, she grew up going there but it’s getting to me, I’m not getting any younger and trapped in that hell hole every bloody year, my only sanity is I take my English food rather than eaten foreign muck!

Your “holiday” sounds a nightmare for everyone.
If not a wind up, I would advise you and your wife sit down and discuss the situation and sort a better solution, rather than wishing your in-laws lives away.

Its not a holiday it feels like a sentence, I don't enjoy being forced to be there, what is there to like about that, who on earth apart from people in gods waiting room want to sit on a hot sandy beach for 6 weeks, my life is ticking away never mind the bloody outlaws, I have had enough and have just had to sell a van I loved to buy some third rate new piece of crap! I'm not having a good day, I had to watch my beautiful van that I have looked after so carefully just like a child for 9yrs be driven off this morning, very, very sad indeed

I certainly understand that, I cried when I saw my last van go down the road. I can also understand having a rant to get things off your chest.
I sincerely hope that tomorrow things are clearer,you seem to have the knowledge and tools (and dare I say it, money) to be able to make decisions about these things for yourself.

I didn’t think this thread could get more confusing, how on earth could anyone be in love with a van that’s used only once a year for 9 years for a 6 week holiday that’s hated and only used to get to South of France and once you’re there as a big fridge/freezer and bedroom. Mind you reading this thread is more entertaining than what’s on the telly, footy in one room and the Kardashians in another!
