Disgruntled CAMC Warden Joining Here!

Probably Godrevy Park? Not one of our favourites (nothing wrong with it but.....) and tends to be one of the more expensive ones.
Yes, that was the one although I didn't pay any attention to the site itself. It was just somewhere hassle-free to park and kip.
I just looked it up and yup, it's £10 a night for the pitch and another tenner for each person. Odd that in Sept only a couple of days are the grass pitches with awning fully booked. Surprisingly other types of pitches available too even though rumour has it that sites in Cornwall are rammed......not that I'll be going there.

Easier to park on the pitch, then move the peg to suit. ::bigsmile: ::bigsmile:

Good luck, they have started spraying a line where the peg should be, some sites even have little metal markers concreted in place.

I park up to a foot or so away on the correct side of the peg, never been an issue.

It was a joke.
Doesn't apply to me, left "the club" a few years ago.

Not always! They are spaying a white 2” dot on the wood surround of the pitch on hardstandings so you if move the peg from the dot you walk the plank😁

Actually l am amazed at just how many Funsters cannot reverse, whats so difficult about getting next to the peg additionally you can drive forward upto the peg and it appears many cannot even do that, all this subtifuge surely isn’t necessary.

Don't think that it is caused by an inability to reverse, the problem for a MH is that there is always a strip of the pitch that you cannot really use. A caravanner parks the car on one side and the awning on the other. So with a MH there is a temptation to easy across a little bit to give more room on the door side

Perhaps, but l manage to put my Trailer and Car on one side without problem.

"...and membership cards become digital."

Given the CAMC IT department's level of competence, that should be interesting.
They have done that already, it's on the app, but only one card so if there are 2 people you have to have the app on both phones, so they did find a way to cock it up

Shock news, employee thinks the business is being run my idiots!
Leave if you don’t like the way it’s run.
If service on site fails to deliver, customers will vote with their feet.
Lots of big brands and companies operate completely different behind the scenes.
I joined a Global leading player in it’s market sector. Behinds the scenes a complete shambles, hence I will be resigning shortly.
Deposits by the way; a good idea if it stops all this block booking.

does anyone use campsite wifi now most of us get our internet connection via our phones offering free wifi now is a gimmick
I don't have a smart phone and don't use apps (through personal choice), so site wifi is important to me.

Despite everything going on behind the clubs closed doors you never ever let it influence your welcome to guests, for guests at arrival we always do our best

I wish this was the case, sadly it isn’t always. We are a couple in our 50’s, no dogs, no kids (not that there’s anything wrong with that) quiet, don’t bother anyone so nothing to upset anyone. We got to one site and I said “Hello, how are you?” as I entered reception to pay... “I’ll be OK on 31 October! “ was the Wardens reply...”Oh what happens then?” I asked... “This place shuts!” came the reply... Now I understand they are disgruntled but I don’t want to hear this when I arrive for my well earned, much waited for break 🤷‍♀️
😂😂😂 well you did ask 😂😂😂.

What is this, peg,?
you all speak of , never seen one.

Yes I agree, they refer to themselves as ‘Warden’ big mistake as they have been Site Managers and Assistants for a while now. It’s not even funny.😄

Should be good for another thread!
Not really, the Masons get a lot of bad press, it is not the elite club, full of Police, Bankers, Bosses and upper Management (although there are some) that it once was.
In the past, these were the only people that had the money, because being a Mason requires a certain level of expense, but today when more of the people have wealth, a wider spectrum of people have joined.

I became a Freemason, 40yrs ago, out of curiosity and the only way I could know what a Mason was REALLY about was to become one.
I found they, dine well, have intelligent conversation, help one another as ANY friends would do, (when in any business, is it not better to employ people you know instead of strangers?) and do an awful lot more for society than they are given credit for. (It is rumoured that the young schoolgirl that was shot by the Taliban a number of years ago, was brought to Britain and treated at the Masonic Hospital in London, for example?)

The only disappointments I had was that most of the Masons were doing their rituals and not know what these represented and my lodge was too far away from farm where I lived and this meant that I could not enjoy the hospitality to its fullest(I had a Transport Company so my driving licences and repute was VERY important too me and I left because the temptation to have that extra drink was getting harder to resist)

Do not dis (in todays parlance) the Freemasons, there is more to them than meets the eye!

But if your a MoHo towing a vehicle then that vehicle can park in the space provided etc so it’s easier just to play by the ‘rules’

Absolutely. My point was that people who “miss” the peg may do it for a reason other than their ability to reverse

Oops I pressed the send button
So I've been Warden for over 10 years, seen many changes to both the club and members.
But along with many many many staff here I've had enough,I'm quitting.
For years it's been the unspoken rule that we don't post on forums as it was seen as a betrayal of club confidential information.......that's all over now.
So hang onto your hats over the next few nights il keep you up to date with all the huge changes ahead for you with the CAMC

Ps if Jim the site owner would like to confirm my credentials he can email me and I'll phone him for a chat
Was reading your post and it’s is not unlike many people in many industries, change happens as an operative in an organisation we may feel a change is detrimental often a change by an organisation happens either from a perceived cost efficiency, a perceived inefficiency or behaviour that is causing problems for the organisation.

I suspect every member here has a ‘work’ story of woe they could tell spilling the beans or giving an inside track.

personally I am always polite and grateful to staff on what ever site I am on and wish you a happy future. Try an forget the issues you may have had with that organisation now is the time to get a little joy out of life. I am not dismissing your frustrations about your former employer but you have a new journey. Enjoy it and feel sorry for those managers you left behind.

Blimey aren’t people keen to hear gossip. The Cummings dialogue didn’t work too well.
There are two side to every story.

As a consumer we have not encountered any issue with the club and is a testament to the professionalism of the wardens and staff.

Discussion on this topic on the C&MC forum has been censored and the thread removed. A pity, it would have been better for the Club to at least make a statement rather than just completely remove the thread without as much as a single word. Now there will be nothing but speculation ad infinitum.
