I'm sure most of you have been there, bought your motorhome then had to wait to picking it up. I put the deposit down in October and the dealer told me it will be registered on the 1st of march. So the countdown is 8 weeks today, anyone else in the same boat can join in.
Mickey.

5 days to go for me, initial panic has melted down into anxiety ;) Wonder if they'll let me pick it up in the middle of the night when there's no traffic around? :cautious::rolleyes::LOL:

They should start building mine tomorrow (Monday) not going to start my countdown till I know it's definitely started (may even wait till 10 days or less to go before counting down so I don't have to take my socks off and even if I do then 21days is my limit ). Mickey I am pretty sure you will still beat me onto the road (again).

I take it you've never driven one before then. I've still only done my "50 miles straight down the M5 (except for services)", but I did find it surprisingly unstressful. Next weekend I'm going on a local industrial estate which is very quiet and has roundabouts and dead-ends, so I can practice going round in circles and reversing :ROFLMAO:

It's only a couple of miles along strange roads to the motorway, then I'm sure I'll be fine thanks (y) :)

Don't know what's up with you lot, on my way to pick up mine tomorrow still can't get excited about it. :D
More concerned about all the bits I've got to fit to it.

Bet you don't even hang a sock up at Christmas

Our Bailey 79-6 was ordered at NEC last October and due to start being built on the Monday just gone which was confirmed on Baileys own system whilst we were at the February show, rang dealer on Tuesday to find it is now due to start production next Monday the dealer thought it might be because we went with media pack plus and Leather upholstery (with 2 Weimariners you need something that is very wipable) still 1 extra week ain't too bad just hope it doesn't slip any more or I may need to pay a visit to Bristol with my toolkit in the boot

Just looked at a Benimar 294 on Marquis site, nice looking van but not much payload at 260kgo_O
I thought we traveled light, emptying out the van, dining room is nearly full, piles of stuff in the garage and now started filling up one of the bedrooms. Surprising how much space all the kitchen stuff takes and the bedding when it's not spread out on the beds.

I got my VIN number yesterday, not one of the ones effected by the camshaft problem.
what camshaft problem is that Lenny,
Thks

@Cuto we ordered our P650GJ from Hayes at the beginning of September and they had it in on 24 January. We picked it up on 3 March. Hayes were brilliant, keeping us informed all the way.

There was a recall on about 24,000 vans for faulty camshaft, most of them were ones that event to Australia, built Nov 2016 - Jan 2017.
There is a thread about it.
Thks
Hope everything went ok with your new van, enjoy

Woohoo just got a call to say my van will be arriving on the 24th March and we have a collection date of 7th April(y)

Just phoned Comfort to get it insured. We paid £285 with and option of £60 for euro breakdown cover to be added when we get our motorhome.
