I'm sure most of you have been there, bought your motorhome then had to wait to picking it up. I put the deposit down in October and the dealer told me it will be registered on the 1st of march. So the countdown is 8 weeks today, anyone else in the same boat can join in.
Mickey.

Hi @Ronniddire mine is only a tiddler (5.4m) so a different chassis. I'm sure everyone in the chain would like their cut sooner rather than later so I doubt anybody is deliberately stalling.

I never said anyone was deliberately stalling. I was merely asking if anyone had a delay on their MH due to chassis.

I didn't think that you were ... I was only trying to reassure you that in all likelihood what they are saying is correct (y). I haven't seen anyone else mention the problem but there's only small numbers made to order and they are spread between makes/manufacturers.

You might want to use your remaining 3 free posts sparingly - others will probably respond within the next day or two :)

Hi all. Reading through some of the posts i can see I'm not the only one not being impatient about the arrival date for the MH. We ordered our Burstner 728 in Oct and bid date was first week in Feb. We are now told from the dealer Burstner are saying May but he does not know if its the build date or the delivery date. The reason has been put down to a delay on the Maxi chassis.
I was just wandering if anyone else was encountering the same problem.
Is it LHD or RHD, as German manufacturers often build RHD in batches probably only a couple of batches a year where as LHD are constantly rolling off the line.
Our Hymer is bang on time, LHD from Belgium dealer, last one was on time and the one before that.

Can't believe it's so near :D2. Got the horrible job of washing and ironing all the new bedding and towels, washing all the crockery, cutlery, pots & pans and just generally getting everything together in one place (spread all over the house at the mo) ready to all go in a week on Saturday. Off to Vanbitz on the following Tuesday.

Well my dealers ears must have been burning this morning as Ive just had an update.
My new Chausson is due to come off the production line end of February. 2 Weeks of further checks then loaded for delivery to Newcastle.
So April pickup looking likely(y)

Seen these Motorhomes yesterday while skiing down the Blue run in Bansko. One is a Carthago and the other looked like a chausson. The owners were sitting outside basking in the 23c sun watching the skiers go past

Awesome!

Next winter I plan to take a month off work and either do a sun tour of Portugal etc or head to a ski resort and teach my will be 3.5 year old then to ski.

Is winterising a big job on a newer vehicle?

Back down today and there was another 4 Motorhomes parked up. Looked a good location if your travelling in that area. Way too far for me.

Picking up the new Hymer next Tuesday.
Typical hospital phoned this morning, I've been waiting for a minor op, they had a cancellation and they good do it Thursday, I declined as driving might be painful afterwards as it was to remove Cysts from my crown jewels.:)

Health first Lenny, good luck with your new motorhome.

Mickey.
Nope Motorhome first.:D
It's not essential to get done doesn't cause any medical problems I just opted to get done as it can get a bit uncomfortable when cycling or walking up mountains in hot weather.

@Vanman, that's next week! (stating the obvious o_O). Have you got your first trip planned? Ours has been a steep learning curve, and still is, but it's so worth it. This is where we are tonight and it was lovely watching the sunset:).20170309_154604.jpg 20170309_155323.jpg

We thought we'd venture into a strange and wondrous foreign land for our 'shake-down' trip. It's called Wales! Snowdonia is about 80 miles away so we can get home again quickly if we get scared :)

Love your pictures (y)
