Here’s another one from earlier this year.
Everyone, as usual, is parked neatly within the white lines but one ignores it all and decides to be awkward.
I seem to remember that he was Belgian.

Those two vans in the foreground are parked at least five degrees off from the white lines - disgusting!

You do have to wonder about some of the motorhomes that park at cite europe

I mean theres obviously still a security problem here with the odd immigrant or there wouldnt be guys with dogs etc

So why does some clown with a motorhome with roof access ladder choose to park it right next to the security fence ?

I mean surely he realises that's giving an opportunity to climb up and jump the fence

We always travel as far as possible from the tunnel before stopping, and stay at least an hour away going towards it. Even if the risk of acquiring an unwanted passenger is low why take it if it’s avoidable?

Yep you would have to be pretty desperate 60mph with your face or arse a foot off the tarmac

We saw Invaders at cite europe as recently as last year. While we were queuing for the check in for the tunnel we saw about 20-25 of them running across the Camping car Park chased by the Gendarmes. I posted it on here and there were people posting that they were staying there at the same time and saw nothing.

There do seem to be less around there this year though. I have heard that they are targeting Caen more.

If there's plenty of room at Cite Europe what difference does it make how anyone parks?

Because at times the car park gets busy with people wanting to shop.

The woman in the customs shed was telling me that they are getting quite a few still

Said they found one in a drop down bed just a few days ago , and one strapped on the roof . So looks like it is still happening

Thankfully I didn't have any in mine and I'm half way cross channel now

Have not read the whole thread but when I came back to UK via Caen on Saturday both in France and Uk we were searched. The Uk official just wanted to check the toilet area. He said that they are breaking in through roof hatches
When we travel and stay at Citi Europe have always checked under the van before driving off. Just don’t want any stowaway to cause damage when bouncing along. Had one climb up on the roof of the old vaun via rear ladder whilst sitting in traffic awaiting to get to the ferry. I Pulled over by local police who nipped up and took him down

When a British motorhome not only parked across the bays, like the one in the photo, but with his bonnet about six inches from the side of our motorhome at Cité I asked him why.

He apologised for parking so close and backed off a few feet but said that if he parked between the bays the slope on the car park was uncomfortable. Parking across the bays was better.

Actually, and you can see in the pic, that's a double fence - and there's a bloody great ditch between them. If anyone can jump across there they should be employed by a circus!

I can't understand why they don't just wander through the 'pet passport' office gate? It always seem to open. It's only a couple hundred yards down the fence opposite Lidl, we use it as a short cut every time when we leave for the Chunnel from Cite Europe
It always open and delivers you right next to the vehicle check in. Why have a huge fence?

I’m really not sure what your problem is with cite de Europe, you obviously have a jaundiced view of it so don’t go there but why the puerile comments?

Cite de Europe is a large leisure/ shopping centre adjacent to Eurotunnel at Calais. A lot of motorhomers happily and peacefully overnight there before or after using Eurotunnel.
