Citi Europe

If you don't like cite Europe, do as we always do , twenty easy minutes up the road , gravelines is always welcomeing (y) (y):xsmile:
We’ve always enjoyed Graveline, easy access, nice town, nearby supermarket.... but someone tried (and failed) to nick our bikes there last year!

What is the difference? At the entrance it has the same sign that all other Aires that can be used by motorhomes for parking overnight has. And at the garage where the bourne is it has the motorhome dump sign.

You're quite right, there is a sign for motorhome parking at all the aires de camping-car. The difference is that the aires have been provided for and are dedicated to motorhomes, i.e. no cars, caravans and other vehicles, and there is usually a service point of some kind. Also when they are marked out, which isn't always, it's for motorhome sized vehicles. The Citie Europe site is marked out for cars, the parking sign just indicates that motorhomes should park here 'cos everywhere else has height barriers.

We always use Cite Europe on arrival and sleep over having used the cheaper late crossing.
For those that have used the old aire by the port and heard the ferries all night, then Cite Europe is very quiet !!

Will not be using Citi Europe from now on after reluctantly agreeing to a final shop there last Friday. We have stayed overnight there several time but had already decided to stay at Wissett and felt safe just to shop.
Feeling uneasy there we stopped at McDonald’s to grab a quick bite and keep eye on van but unfortunately the reflection on the glass hampered the view. I saw two/three wander near the van and straight out checked under van then under bike rack and yes we had a passenger.
Eventually released him as he could not get out and very apologetic but thankfully no damage. Yes I know we should not have bothered but the point of posting is to warn off folks.

I'm not sure they think about safety tbh, I think they just want a better safer life from what they came from and will do whatever it takes. Sad really.
Would imagine they make some sort of straps up,,BUSBY. Very desperate people,,must be very grim where they originate from,

They will use any wiring, or covers, under or around your van to help them to hide.or hang on to.

When I discovered two in the engine compartment of my coach they were standing on a ledge only half an inch wide and were using a bit of old carpet to protect their hands from the engine heat. Fortunately they'd only travelled about a mile like that.
Desperate indeed!
