Anyone still going away for New Year ?

Wales ??? The hospitals there are nearly at breaking point ! The NHS deserve all the help they can get , by people taking responsibility and advice .
heres Gwynedd

If this thread carries on the way it is...

I can see a large "Funster" meet in Coventry looming... :xdoh:

(Snap) same time as me... AFAICS some of them seem to be competing for a trip to Coventry, especially dulvil

.............but, but Coventry is in tier 3...............:xwink:

so nobody going there...:xwink:

Boris will have his EU vote tomorrow, then announce nationwide tier 4, leaving just enough time for the MP's to scuttle off back home.
The increase in cases since people put Covid on hold for Christmas, leaves him no choice ?

If people follow the rules and don't travel in from higher tiers it should be OK, the OP is not suggesting breaking the rules.
Common sense should also be applied.
Why do you think T2 areas went into T3, then T4?
The vast majority would have been abiding by the "rules".

"Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men"

Just because something is allowed, doesn't mean you should.

60mph on a national road is allowed... but is it wise in fog?

In Poole here, not looking forward to tomorrow’s announcements. I haven’t seen much difference in road travel or footfall in the local shops.
I did feel for you when I saw your daughter’s birthday celebrations. Our daughter was 30 this year so all our celebrations fell through as well. I reckon we will all be in Tier 3 or maybe even 4. I’m not one to fuss about health matters but this is scarey.

Just as well this thread can only be read by members only.. (I hope)...

Because if I were contemplating joining this club..

I would sure have second thoughts about that...:xsad:

OK for a bit of constructive criticism to any thread... but some of the reply`s have been frighteningly uncalled for and below the belt...

I despair....:lipssealed:

Exactly , as others have said there is no hope. The only ones being inconvenienced are those who haven't left the house for the last 10 months.

Are you really that surprised Maurice?
Given how Covid has affected so many...
Is the OP (newish member) naive or trolling?

You really wouldn’t think we were on a Motorhome forum lately . Some of the replies have been down right rude . I asked if anyone will be going away for New Year’s Eve and had anything booked . It’s unlikely anyone would be comfortable admitting this now anyway .
I didn’t ask for personal attacks on my intelligence . I must presume ALL of the people who have had a go at me , never ever leave the house at all 🙄
No we are staying at home - am in Wigtownshire which according to the news has had a greatly increased number of COvid positives. We wouldnt bother going away anyway as a large part of any holiday for us is meeting up with people, nice meals at the pub and wandering round shops.

Very quiet New Year just with my hubby at home

Again another accusation of being a troll .
Don’t worry . I will have put myself in Coventry and take a break for a while . Genuinely upset about this now . Totally unfair . I only asked a question .

They can’t just kick you off the campsite the same day 👍🏻
They did with a large group of motorhomers at the start the first lockdown! We were allowed a few extra days as were full timers and had no where to go at that time (and possibly because I begged and cried)

Is the OP (newish member) naive or trolling?
IMHO, neither. He asked a valid question about an activity that is legal. This forum has debated going skiing for example and opinion has been divided.

He wants to go motorhoming - legally.
He will be no more a threat to anyone else than if he stays at home and goes out to a restaurant for example. Maybe less of a risk?

What does being a newish member have to do with it and what exactly is wrong with asking a motorhome based question on a motorhome forum? I see lots of things talked about motorhome related but mostly not that I disagree with. If I don't like it, I ignore it. I don't think its fair to say someone is naive/trolling just because their opinion differs from your own

You have your answer..... straight from the horses mouth so as to speak... :xsmile:

And to be quite honest... I can quite see why he has got a little upset..

I certainly would of... (Or should that be "Have", always get them words mixed up.. :xdoh:)

He did however and by posting that on, the eve of possibly further restrictions, was bound to incite the comments he received. Unnecessary in the currrent climate. We all want to get back to normal but it’s going to take a while. Perhaps more thought for others who are trapped in higher tiers

And that's complaining about a debate getting heated 😄

There is a difference between a heated debate and being downright rude..

In your opinion maybe. Sorry but this tread has got toxic to anyone who dares enjoy life isolated in a motorhome.
Just no need for it and people should just scroll past if they have no proper input other than self righteousness

Doesn't matter if it's heated or rude. The thread view count still goes up quicker than any other thread.
