Anyone still going away for New Year ?

Well next announcement is tomorrow weds , with the latest figures it’s looks like all at least tier 4 . To help people know the situation ????

AFAICS some of them seem to be competing for a trip to Coventry, especially dulvil
I agree
If this thread carries on the way it is...

I can see a large "Funster" meet in Coventry looming... :xdoh:

(Snap) same time as me... AFAICS some of them seem to be competing for a trip to Coventry, especially dulvil
I won’t be getting banned as I am only being honest and trying to be polite whilst under attack lol

I'm going away for New Year's Eve, it's legal, I follow all the government guidelines regarding self isolation, so what's the problem it's personal choice.

Do you publicly share your opinions on people not wearing masks in public, people not keeping to 1 or 2 metre space, people leaving London like lemmings, people who go to restaurants for meals, people who don't use hand sanitizer before and after touching anything they don't own, people who met up with family over Christmas, or any other time, people who choose to leave home to go to work and so the list goes on and on

Let him that hath no sin vast the first stone

So if you see someone else doing wrong, it gives you licence to also do wrong?

Nice to see another Motorhomer on this forum . Thought I was in the wrong place 😂

Strange that at a time when people are dying in increasing numbers, infections are shooting up and thousands of people are seriously ill and millions are locked down and urged to make only essential journeys and we all know that the virus can only get about if people are kind enough to carry it to its next victim, that anyone would be surprised that an innocent enquiry as to whether anyone is planning on going away on New Year's Eve might generate some emotional responses.

We would love to be going somewhere nice for NYE :xblink:

But once Jasmine's was shut (booked, but had to shut due to restrictions) and the infection rate went crazy, we chose to stay put. For us, the right choice.

I'm not going to try and tell someone what they can and can't do, so I'll just say stay safe, have a good time and Happy New Year.

I'm not surprised folk are getting heated, when they've not been able to see family, when people they know have been very seriously ill, or even died.
Then there's the way this virus might have financially affected them or their household, loss of job/business

And the OP thinks it's fair enough defending his proposed NYE jolly?

To be fair if the regulations say the campsite is open, safe and legal then he has nothing to defend.

Just on the news now, York in tier 2 at xmas with 80 per 100 thou has now jumped to 218 per 100 thou in just a few days, now expecting to go into tier 3/4 tomorrow
Just to put that in perspective - its gone from 0.08% to 0.22% cases, most of which will not require intervention.

a popular campsite on this forum was open until the tier change. If we re letting the government determine the required practices then why do we need to goldplate them? Many areas of this country have low numbers of cases, Shropshires latest numbers are still in the 90,s so less than 0.1%, large areas of Wales have even less.

Wales ??? The hospitals there are nearly at breaking point ! The NHS deserve all the help they can get , by people taking responsibility and advice .

All because you can doesn’t mean you should so no, we are staying put. We are in a Tier 2 area but 7 day case rates for Dorset 120 per 100,00 up from 46 on 18th Dec, and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are 218 up from 86. We haven’t even seen the effects of Christmas yet. I will just go and bash my head against a brick wall for a bit.
In Poole here, not looking forward to tomorrow’s announcements. I haven’t seen much difference in road travel or footfall in the local shops.

What I find astonishing isn't that someone is going away during a pandemic, but that they announce it on a forum and are surprised when they get some stick..
I think its called trolling. There's a lot of it about. Ignore. Its boring.

Swifter if you are in Tier 2 and going to Tier 2 go for it. We did the same, only thing stopping us staying away for new year is work. The site we are on currently are open until the 2nd. All covid secure, placed on alternate pitches to keep space and lots of cleaning. Enjoy your trip away :xThumb:

Are you calling me a troll ? Have you looked at my posts ? I have tried to be a helpful and nice member of this “ fun “ community .
I certainly wouldn’t want to spend anytime at a rally with some of the negative people on this thread ! How rude !
