A photo of the outside from Inside

Thanks for that. It looks just the ticket and near enough to Luxembourg to get cheaper fuel.
Stayed on this one in May, right on the Mosel with Germany the other side of the river.

Also been to this one at the beginning of the week.
Bit nearer to Luxembourg.

Many thanks for these. Recommendations always welcome.

Parkgate on the Wirral. Stop for lunch and looking forward to an ice cream from Nicholls afterwards.
This place fascinates me. If I remember correctly Handel sailed for Ireland from Parkgate before it silted up and became landlocked.
Was a Great place to see Marsh Harriers and Short eared Owls searching the marshes, not sure if it still is since some pillock set fire to the marsh earlier this year.

Are you at the CL near the base of the Hannington TV mast?
I have walked passed that CL & fancied staying there a night or 2 😃🤪

[pedant]I don’t think you’ve got Newbury in the pic[/pedant]
It is in that general direction though.
It does look like you’ve got Greenham Common’s water tower though. That’s left of centre near the horizon.

Edit: the CL near Cottington’s Hill
Yes, that's the one. Good view, (I had realised that Newbury is actually in a dip below hills, but I mentioned it to give people the idea where we were) with a number of walks around. If anyone goes there don't go requiring much water - the pressure is terrible and the only true drinking tap (the other one is used for rinsing out the chemical waste) is under trees.

It’s all regrown now, thank goodness.
we didn’t see any Marsh Harriers but a couple of years ago we were strolling along the footpath the west side of the pub and a stoat gripping a vole in its mouth ran in front of us - about 2 feet away. I was thrilled. 💕

Thanks for the update, we will have to take a trip over to photograph the birds midweek when it’s a little quieter. I also saw the Long Eared Owl at the RSPB reserve though was at a distance sat up in a tree, very hard to photograph 🤪

Dumb question but , because photos show a file number does that mean that anyone can access another person’s photos from that ?

I'd love to answer you but I don't understand the question. :(

By file number do you mean where it ends telling you it's a jpeg?

If so, all I can see by clicking on that number is the actual photo.

.... Or I can click through the other photos that Funsters have posted some day and it says which thread.

View from our rear window at the aire at Monthermé in the Ardennes.
One of our favourite Aires!

A few little memories that tickled us whilst there.....

The Capitaniere out at the crack of dawn to hose the poo from the geese that roosted on the jetty.

Margaret having to stand in "our place" whilst I drove the MH a couple of miles up the road to the Elsan to empty the cassette, with all the European phrases ready at hand, to convince any would be interloper that the pitch wasn't vacant!

Having to leave your passport at the Capitanieres to borrow the adaptor for the water connection on the bollards.

It being that hot in mid May, the water in the boiler didn't need heating for our three showers a day!

Margarets first ever experience of paddleboarding.

Amongst our best memories of French Aires.
Thanks. (y)

Looks fabulous. Hope u both well xx
Hi Brian and Lee. Yes we're both good. Taffy the dog too. He did well climbing to the panorama today for a 14 year old. Still got a spring in his step! Hope you two are both well too.

We've finished working at festivals for the summer. Last one was just over a fortnight ago, so now embarked on autumn and early winter touring in France and Spain.

Must try and meet up at a rally (or festival) next year.

Andy and Julie.

Love too, now that’s a plan.
Cheers, x

Beachfront pitch at Camping Stobrec Spilt. When I say Split, I mean 11 km out! Lovely view though, so not complaining.

Just like saying Camping London, Southend on Sea.

I stayed there.… I hated it! 😮
Long queue for the laundry (I argued with a German woman who jumped the queue), vans were packed in like sardines, and facilities were archaic. Added to that, it was very expensive. 🙁

How experiences differ. Great sized pitch, loads of room, friendly Germans and Austrians either side. Let you know how the washing goes tomorrow.
