This morning in Florence, it’s as far south as we go this time and our most expensive stop!! All roads lead to…the north from here on

If I knew how to I would but I am not that clever however, I am at Hu Camping Village Firenze, I think. Not cheap but everything is quality here.
This one😁 https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/marker.php?id=24737

We were there last September after we visited Venice, the restaurant was pretty good but I found the site a bit tight to get around as we has a pitch over the back.
Handy little coach the site provide to get you into the city…..

That’s it? Haven’t tried the little shuttle bus yet but yes, €3 return seems a good deal. We are near the front of the site, near those same shuttle buses so no manoeuvring issues here for us.

I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and portion sizes in the restaurant.

So once again, pushing those thread rules to the limits as from the step and not inside Hymer…but Lake Maggiore from our lakeside pitch at Camping Parisi…

Cheaper than our last stop in Florence and way better views.

For anyone else in Italy at present, we have avoided the worst of the weather and I have sunburn. This has been done, like the rest of my life, more by luck than judgement.

Not far from you at Cannobio.

We will probably get the ferry over there in a couple of days. We are booked on the Maggiore Express tomorrow so we’ll wave inanely as we go past in the afternoon.

We are due there end of next week, keep the weather going if you can please :)

I wouldn’t abandon Italy. The weather system causing unseasonal conditions is huge and extends across a large area of Europe, so moving on after the event might not help you much. Events in Italy were well anticipated and I think the worst of the weather was central. We’re in the north where the weather would be judged as a UK typical summer day e.g. cool (15 - 18c), grey sky with occasional sunshine & rain showers. It’s been like that for about 3 weeks with the occasional good day when temperatures get into the low twenties and is quite pleasant. We started today in warm sunshine, moderate rain by lunchtime and sun made an appearance in the late afternoon, enough for a cold beer alfresco. In the event of sunny periods, the sun here has enough strength now to warm things up quickly.

It may not be very bad where you are at the moment but i'd give Italy a miss myself as at least 8 have died so far and you never know when or where exactly the next heavy rainfall will fall, staying away may help emergency services deal with what is happening.
