Again out birding in the South Tyne Valley this afternoon, in passing called to see the Church of Holy Paraclete at Kirkhauugh near Alston yards over the `Northumbrian border into Cumbria. Very unique church in several ways, only one in the U.K. dedicated to the Holy Paraclete (Holy Spirit) the only church with a needle spire and the only church designed by a clergyman not an architect. Set in beautiful surrounding in a stunning location, churchyard is also very special with a Saxon cross amongst the very old gravestones. As you walk in there is a seating area with a kettle, water, tea and coffee and dried milk etc with a notice above saying if you wish to contemplate make a brew take a seat and take in the ambience, just how good is that.👍

Our first visit to Nordkapp in Norway. So lucky with the weather, wall to wall sunshine. However, we were not alone! Although crowded, the scenery was above our expectations, especially the drive to get there. And if you walked a hundred yards or so along the cliffs, you were alone again.

Just a quick question.

Is “birding” like “dogging “ but a bit more flighty?

Can I ask - what camera, what setting to get that effect?
I've wanted to capture such a shot but despite all the YouTube tutorials, never quite achieved it.
It's a Pixel 7a smartphone. Photo was taken using "Long Exposure" mode. It isn't actually a single long exposure, but a stacking and realigning of multiple single images into a pseudo long exposure. All done automatically in a fraction of a second. This has the benefit of being able to create the effect without the need for a tripod to hold the phone steady.

The "computational photography" that Google have built into their Pixel smartphones is really impressive. However, there is no Manual mode, so I've got a bit of a love-hate relationship with them in that there are some photographs that are not obtainable - you just have to accept that "Google knows best"!

Lots but slow learner.
We didn't know when we went in but ended up in a vegan restaurant (sorry) anyway the veg soup and wedges were the best we can remember. Won't be making a habit of it.
Got back to the cottage and did some proper food.
AND, you can't bring your Motorhome down here mister.
Those Devon lanes are fun, 3 miles to the nearest pud, some lanes the bracken and brambles were scraping both sides of the car.
And you have to breath in going over a 7ft wide bridge.
