A photo of the day thread

After 10 minutes chasing the ball around the garden she has not put it down all day😁😁
Given 2-6 weeks to live 2 weeks ago so every day is a bonus😢😢

A bit of a greyish day and overnight at the Northumbrian Waters Fontburn Reservoir on our way up to a few days in Edinburgh for the Fringe.

The Canadian geese were quite regimented in their feeding routine.... They would go line abreast one way whilst feeding and then single file on the way back!!

The Reservoir was completed in 1908 and features an amazingly built 'Black Hole' which I think would look amazing when in full flow!

Northumberland Water's website says open 8 - 8, so is overnighting permitted or did you just wing it?

We didn't travel far yesterday so arrived at Fontburn about 11am. We like it here so paid for a days parking, £5, and then an overnight, £10.

Woke up in blazing sunshine so solar panel was charging batteries but also greeted by the dreaded 'rotten eggs' smell.
Checked both leisure batteries, one of which was warm and smelly.

Sourced a new battery at Hexham availailable at 1400 hours. So left Fontburn at about1030 and drove down to Hexham.

Collected and fitted the battery and drove back to Fontburn arriving here 1700 so just paid another overnight ticket at £10.

Just looking for a scrapyard now to weigh in the old battery and defray some costs!:unsure:

Website to book and pay for parking and overnight at all their reservoirs is here....

We left Fontburn Reservoir to blue skies after watching the geese feeding with one keeping watch...

Continued up to the THS at Danderhall but only stayed overnight as it was packed to the gunwhales and they were about to erect a marquee for a Ceildegh(sp)

Moved back south for a bit more isolation and left the A7 onto the B7007 & B709 towards Innerleithen.

Our Coffee Stop..

Had a wander around Innerleithen village and then carried on B709 to St Mary's Loch and overnighted at the National Trust Scotland car park at Grey Mares Tail....

We're booked into The Green Frog at Moffat as we need to service the MH so we'll have a quiet day round by Megget Reservoir...

Looks nice. Is there camping nearby?
The aire is within walking distance of the lake.

€10 with all services, including electric, and cycling distance to the town.

It also comes with its own resident cat ….

Took a drive to SLAPTON Sands/ Torcross today, bit of a journey from home. Always wanted to pop down there, thought of staying at CMC Start Bay sight. Glad we didn't as roads are very narrow and we'd have got stuck somewhere especially if taking a wrong turn.

It rained, had hoped to have lunch at Billy Can Cafe, but read opening times wrong, closed on Thursdays. 🙈🙈🙈🙈

Apparently 3,000 local inhabitants had to leave their homes to all allied troops to live and train for Exercise Tiger.

Couple of big tree fungusesses (!) from today's dog walk. The second pic is on a big beech tree a few doors up and although I can't be 100% sure, I've a feeling it destroys the tree's root system ? Mentioned it to the householder and she just said "Oh, I'll just get my husband to pick them off when he gets in." I'm not sure it's that simple though ?
Any positive id's would be welcome.

I have five grey herons in my gum (eucalyptus) tree outside my bedroom window. They settle here every Spring and make a nest. A bit early this year. Fortunately their droppings miss the motorhome roof by about 3 feet, but they are very noisy.
