A photo of the day thread

Perhaps he didn't want to get up early tomorrow.

Not the smartest of moves then…those of us in the nearby car park can snooze until 45 mins before departure while this guy will get moved on in his underpants as soon as the gate he’s blocking opens at stupid o’clock, if not earlier.

We are in the Dordogne found this little bug guess what it is. A baby stink bug. That's one that won't get in the van. He's dead. You have to zoom in.

First afternoon in Norway after arriving on the ferry from Hirtshals. Visited and hiked along the disused log flume (timber slide) in Vennesla about 45 minutes drive north from Kristiansand. The original log flume has become a historic feature and has been restored and protected. The old timber structure was originally used to float logs from the forest down to the river, but now its been drained and has become a unique hiking trail including a couple of rickety and swaying suspension bridges over some fast flowing rapids.

Exactly a week since we arrived in Norway, and it's still an astonishing country, both man-made and natural. Four pictures from just the last three or four hours -

Underground roundabout where two road tunnels (one of which is 25km / 15 miles long) intersect.

Suspension bridge accoss a fjord, with entry and exit straight out of, and into more tunnels.

Waterfall at Steindalsfossen.

And Norway can manage to build all that amazing infrastructure without the need of EU money.
