A photo of the day thread

More Nepalese "Sherpa Steps" - this time up into the mountains above the fishing town of Solvær on the Lofoten Islands. Called the "Devil's Staircase", they were only recently finished in 2019. Quite a feat of engineering.

I'd be scared going down them.

We are also in Svolvaer tonight (I said we were following you around!), awaiting the 0930 ferry tomorrow, back to the mainland, will be sad to leave Lofoten. Had a nice day today in Henningsvaer and yesterday, we climbed Offersoykammen for a super view, no Sherpa steps this time but very muddy near the bottom.

I have attached a few photos over the last couple of days, quite atmospheric between the brief spells of sunshine and the rain showers.

We have really enjoyed our stay on Lofoten, not as quiet as Finland/Sweden or Senja but we were expecting this and to be honest, as the schools have now gone back, a bit less busy than I thought it would be.

Great photos. The drone picture of the sports ground at Henningsvaer is excellent. It's an insane location - on a rocky island, surrounded by wooden cod drying racks!

If you are into cricket the Freddi Flintoff documentary on BBC is well worth a watch if you ain't already.(y)
Yep, just need to find a bit of time to sit down in front of the telly!

Stayed there last year. Nice walk along the stream into Thirsk.
Much cheaper and more peaceful than the racecourse site.
Happy Jack.
Yes our dog had great fun in stream

Nothing like the first morning of a Test match.

Sorry but test match cricket comes second to watching paint dry in my opinion.

My father loved it, I don’t. (You might have guessed).

Just as well that we are all different.🙂
