A photo of the day thread

Beautiful, beautiful. I was in Norway and Sweden earlier this year. I miss the spaces with tranquility and the quality of the light.
...too true, if we could choose just one country to be, it would be a challenge not to put Sweden at the top of the list. Norway and Finland a very close second though. Still watching the heron...!

Today I am in Tomar. Home for the Knights Templar, though they didn't build this extraordinary 6km aqueduct, it is only a little over 400 years old - finished in 1613, taking 20 years to build. Move over HS2.

Looked to see where it was available for purchase but it only seemed available online.

Our last day on the island of Tjorn, just off the west coast of Sweden. Very quiet, now that most of the tourists have left, making it a good time to visit, I believe it gets very busy at the height of the Scandi summer season (mid June to mid August).

Off to get the ferry to Travemunde tomorrow. We have visited the Gothenborg Archipelago previously (also, well worth a visit, ideally out of main tourist season) but this is the first time we have been to the larger islands a bit further north. Glad we did as stunning coastal scenery, lots of beaches (sandy) and colourful fishing villages, albeit some dominated by leisure craft.

Looks like Amillaria - ‘Scaly-Cap fungi…..??

Parked up across the way from us on the Stellplatz at Donauwörth.
Not your young hippy van-lifers, but and old boy who looks to be in his 60's or 70's, but he may have been a younger hippy when when he got the van. :giggle:

Good to see the Beneton colours living on ;)
