A photo of the day thread

Woke up to wind and rain so gave up on Leuven and came to Ghent.
Poured down all day.
Aire is by sports centre almost under the motorway but we hardly hear the alleged noise.
12 euros Inc leccy water etc. Lovely town (but not in wet) tram 600 m away 2.50 euros per trip so 10 euros return for 2 of us.
Would come again with better weather.

The altar thingy of Ghent in the cathedral (think monuments men film) was 4 euros each to go see it. You will note there are no pictures !!! (Tfg)View attachment 602645View attachment 602646View attachment 602648View attachment 602649View attachment 602650View attachment 602651

Look what I found on my water feature today. It's a Weta. They are only found in New Zealand and are usually in woodland eating leaves, fungi and small insects. Its body is about 8cms long, but it's antennae appear to be even longer.
This one may have been disturbed after I had some trees felled yesterday. He won't like that water 'cos it's got chlorine in it to stop algae forming.

buntyb That croft is what I'd call a "do-er upper".
I like the limited colours in your photos. Really atmospheric.
It certainly is a do-er upper. Wonder who lived there and when it was abandoned. Re the photos, all taken on my mobile. So peaceful up at the loch. Only met 3 people in 9 hours
