Old derelict boat house on lake Trawsfynydd Snowdonia.

This was our lunch spot yesterday on the old A66 between the Sportsman Inn and Penruddock, Cumbria. About 8 miles from home.

We had been away at the THS at Kendal and decided the grass wanting cut at home could wait a couple of hours!

The present A66, which was built on the bed of the Cockermouth to Penrith Railway, can be seen, but not heard, carrying a lot of MH's and Caravans to and from the Lakes.

The hill immediately in front is Great Mell Fell. The hills in the centre distance, I'm not sure of, but towards the western end of Ullswater? The hill to the right is the southern slope of Blencathra ( aka Saddleback)

Bit overcast but the sun got out later

That does look tidy. Our type of site. Is there a pub/restaurant with walking distance please.

Unfortunately it’s a bit isolated. We brought a car so we can travel. It’s adults only site which is a bonus especially in school holidays.

I wandered lonely as a cloud.....well Mrs Dram and the Mohom was there too, but had walk on parts....Glen Nevis and some of the hills I walked when younger...parking at the lower falls carpark for MH is good but access is limited to the upper falls carpark by the weight restrictions and single track road. Worth the treck to the upper CP as you can access, via a sometimes hazardous (when wet) path, the Steall Flats. Gem of a place. Didnt make it today....as Terry Pratchett may have said....buggertion.
