Not of interest to many, sorry. :). But sometimes I see something which touches my heart strings..... A Covid face mask blowing in the gale on a deserted street, caught on a thorn bush whilst the Heavens cried. :(

Not to decry movan 's sensitivity, but I saw this, well what's left, and it touched my tummy strings. Well actually, it never even

touched the sides.
Mmmm. Chocolate cake.

Coastal walking around East Fleet Farm, saw at least 6 different butterflies.
Here’s 4 of them (some dupes).

Not looked at a reference source to see what I saw. If you know please share.

Harnessing the Wind.

Kite surfers on the Solway Firth at Allonby, Cumbria.

Robin Rigg Offshore Windfarm in the distance.

The land you can see on the far right of the horizon is Dumfries & Galloway, perhaps Kirkudbright or the Isle of Whithorn

Longer shot... Bit pixelated!

Edit...
Just caught this very poor image of the beginnings of a Murmuration.

Brill thanks for that.
I think 4 is a 2&3 with the wings closed. I’ll look back through the pics in the sequence to confirm.

If you like the Machars area, you should read the book The Wigtown Ploughman by John McNeillie, it captures the spirit and "remoteness" of the area and rung a chord with me as my Dad was from the area between there and Dumfries. He also wrote a lot of "countryside" books under the pen name of Ian Niall, The Poacher's Handbook being one of my favourites.
Subsistence living in crofts, helping each other at harvest and one of the lines that tickled me, but you'd have to be from North of the Border to appreciate it was the phrase "balup relations" to describe people born out of wedlock !

Enjoying the sunset this evening. Looking over the Solway Firth from Beckfoot near Silloth to Criffel, Dumfriesshire.

My mum and dad had a static caravan at Beckfoot for a number of years in the 70's and 80's, my kids loved it there.
Fishing for radioactive dabs and horse riding at Allonby.

We are still at Beckfoot and can see quite a few fishermen on the shore. The beach is much cleaner nowadays and hopefully the dabs aren’t as “glow in the dark” these days. The stables at Allonby are houses now. But the area is still pretty much the same; very unspoilt and very peaceful. Just wonderful 👍👍
We’re just parked among the dunes having a couple of free nights. Home is only an hour away for us, but we could be anywhere. Glad you had good times there……..oh yes….Twentyman’s ice cream in Allonby is still going strong.

At long last got to see Figures on Crosby beach after a couple of nights at CAMC Wirral - not disappointed but caught out a bit by the sinking mud!😩
