This made us smile this evening....

We arrived at a THS at the Rugby Club, Langholm, Dumfries & Galloway at about 5pm this evening in full sun. The site is surrounded on most sides by tall pines.
Got the chairs and beers out and set about preparing supper.

We became aware that the shadows were lengthening but it was still warm.

Noticed a few other 'campers' carrying chairs around and thought "someone must be having a get together?"

A few minutes later had to walk round the van to get something out and saw them all sat in the 2/6d seats catching the last ray's of sunshine. :giggle:

It would have been nice if they had invited you to join them.

I don't even know if they knew each other ::bigsmile: :giggle:

It was the last patch of sun over the whole 3 rugby pitches and it kept getting smaller so they kept moving like musical chairs to stay in it!:ROFLMAO:
Until the midges put in an appearance ?

Just been contacted by a chap who has bought our Imala 1 hour after us dropping it off at the dealer.
He said he had looked at lots and lots and ours was by far the nicest cleanest he had looked at. He was saying it was/is indistinguishable from new.
The dealer has had to do zero. I have asked the chap how much he has paid for it. Waiting reply.
I say again, apart from that bit of a damp issue now fixed the Autotrail is NOT a bad van.
Turns out the seals underneath we shot so the water was getting in from under. All those seals were cleaned out and re done.

On the way back from Stratford I started to brake for an island and though brakes felt a bit spongy , again next island and thought I better stop and have a look.
Brake fluid leaking in large quantity.
Rang Comfort breakdown number and the AA said someone will be with you in an hour, this was at twelve midday.
Got a text a bit later saying they had passed our call on to a HGV breakdown company in Birmingham and they would be with us at 4.40 pm.
Rang AA and explained that it was over thirty degrees in the motorhome and nearly five hours was ridiculous they said nothing they could do but would monitor the situation.
Just after three a AA patrol van arrived and said we don't do anything over three tons
Hymer breakdown.jpg
but I have been asked to have a look, after a lot of phone calls he agreed to remove leaking brake pipe and take it to Worcester to have a replacement made up ( cost of £35 ) arrived back at motorhome and fitted pipe , bled the system.
Finished at around six in the evening but at least we were up and running again.
Big thankyou to Andrew the AA guy who got us out of a nasty dilemma.

I have told the buyer about the damp and repair and that the invoices for both are in the file.
If the dealer gave him my e-mail not sure if that is right?
But it's not too difficult get a contact when a full file of the van is there to see.
No issue for me.

Not a photo of the day, but on our trip to Stratford - 2 photos - same church (where Will is buried) exactly 25 years apart ….

the boat was our Birchwood 25 - we had some fun in that - Stratford, Stourport-On-Severn, The Thames, not forgetting socialising every weekend for 10 years, 3 miles from home!

The little boy is now 30, and a mental health nurse. I can still remember his surprise when he made up the jigsaw I had had made from the photo, as he saw himself and his dad emerge in the puzzle!
