A photo of the day thread

Now that it is so easy to upload photo's from phones, tablets and PC's to the site. I thought I'd start a photo of the day thread. Rules are simple.

You can post any photo here as long as it was taken by you in the last 24 hours.

I'll start with a picture taken on the long walk to my office this morning.

Hi Jim,
How do you go about putting a photo on here, I've looked but can't find any facility for doing it, sorry I'm a bit tick but I always seem to have difficulty using any website.

Bloomin big grass snake! I'd have ran all the way home if I saw that!!!!
It looks fatter because I got really close to get the close up photo, when it slithered off it was about 3ft long. Haven’t seen one for ages. (y)

I was very surprised when my cat brought one in the house, I was living in London at the time. What made it real fun was the floor boards were up as I was rewiring the house and the cat dropped it down there. Took me hours to catch it, I am on.y glad it was a grass snake and not an adder.

Another snake story - while travelling through Croatia I found a suitable place to wild camp and manoeuvred the van backwards and forwards a few times to get it level. When I opened the door to jump out and turn the gas on I nearly landed on a snake that was sticking its tongue out at me and very “rattled”. I have no idea what sort of snake it was because I didn’t hang around. What I can never understand is; why hadn’t it slithered away? My Mum used to say, “they are more frightened of you than you are of them”. You would have thought 3.5 tonnes of motorhome would have scared it into Bosnia!
