Brissac-Quince in the Loire Valley. The Aire listed in the Aires web site was a few kilometres outside the town and not particularly to our taste. When driving back in we found another one almost right outside the château on the edge of town.

We didn't go inside the château, but visited the grounds and outbuildings including the stables where there are some old carriages and the stables are laid out just as they would have been in its heyday. There is also a mausoleum, but that can only be viewed through the keyhole, and an underground tunnel that used to be part of the water system.

Heading North Thursday.

Clive :france::france::france:

Getting ready like others for the tour.

View attachment 238260 Tower Bridge this morning at 06:30 . Laika the wonder dog didn’t show that much interest in the view.
Good to see a picture of a some proper architecture. Something that would be recognized throughout the world. Always looks good whatever time of the day I think Laika knows that really.. ;):)

Good evening from Grand Canyon du Verdon.

I spent last night at Goult, a charming hill top village which accepts camping cars in the car park. I got there sevenish and grabbed a space. No one else could get in last night, several tried to their disappointment but the car parks were choc a bloc and the restaurants packed.
Before leaving this morning for Bonnieux (Location of the film "A Good Year" a film I have suggested to others but I seem to be the only one that liked. Those that have viewed it don't exactly exude enthusiasm - still one man's meat ...), I took a stroll around. Very pleased I did. First shot is of Hecate resting in the corner of the car park just down from l'église.

Should you be fortunate enough to stay here please note that the bells toll on the hour twice. They ring out once, wait two or three minutes then ring out the hour again. They ring out all night which is not a problem for me because once I am asleep the Russians could have invaded and the first I will know will be when I look out the window or am arrested!
My stroll took me up the hill passing the épicerie:

then the fromagerie

Just a little further along was a poster for some noxious liquid which I am not very good with. The use of VG does it justice (in my eyes).

Walking steadily up the hill I came to the moulin Jérusalem and great panoramic shots of the Montagne Luberon.

On the way up to it I passed this lovely sculpture.

On the stroll back down I took in (amongst far more than you could take) the chateau tower.

As you can imagine I took far more pictures than these. Next stop Bonnieux and a shot taken out the window while waiting for the traffic lights. The road to Cadenet is "fun".

I carried on towards my night stop at Sainte Croix du Verdon stopping enroute at Saint Paul Lès Durance to visit the borne. It is well sign posted and free. No electric but everything else (I have a generator but we better not go there!).
The final two shots are where I am now.

I have screen shotted it, love the colours, I bought our kids a bottle of Absinthe each when we went to that area I think they prefer Gin, no one commented. Maybe they developed Amnesia after drinking it!

Buck Beck Car Park Cleethorpes - the grass field is closed from October until Spring

N 53° 32.470'
W000° 0.086'

The access road is narrow single track with level crossing for the Narrow Gauge railway but two motorhomes can pass each other with care

We don't normally like to use motorways, but sometimes they are a necessity, and in Italy reasonably priced.
When we do use them I tend to stick to just over 90kph which keeps us sort of out of trouble with the lorries.

So normally the comment from myself "F*** me look at this one" is uttered it is normally for the low flying Audi/BMW or the occasional nice sports car and not a German towing a caravan.

Move forward about 10 minutes and quite a sharp left hand bend.........

Brings back the question...What's the difference between a hedgehog and a Range Rover driver?
