A photo of the day thread

A sunny day in Cornwall. We are now at Gwithian Farm near St Ives - one of our favourite sites, just a short walk from the beach and a pub at the end of the driveway :-)

Love it there , Haven't been since last spring , perhaps a late Cornwall trip is on the cards.

This came over the campsite we're on , not far from Cardington hangers, not far as the crow/ airship flies
Didn't know until I saw the news it was it first flight since last year.

Spent yesterday in Porthleven. Mill Lane Campsite was deserted apart from us - not surprising @£25 per night with very basic facilities but walkable into town for a pint :-)

Turned right down the Lizard. Blowing a hooley and raining but the was a cream tea to be had :-)

@Janine, I see you took the diplomatic route, photographing Barry before he applied either the jam first, or the cream first to the scone, thus avoiding a tirade of abuse from our Devon and Cornwall bretheren. :D

There was a sign on the wall with the instructions: 'Jam before cream - you're not in Devon now' :-)

Nice. I'm no Bird photographer (That's my Dad's hobby) but I know enough to know that, "If it's not sharp it's nothing", when it comes to this arm (wing?) of photography. That really is tack-sharp. I'm guessing 400mm lens? (Based on the shallow depth of field).

Thanks for the comments.
The actual focal length of the lens was 420mm, this is a 300mm prime lens with a 1.4x teleconverter.
What gives it the reach is the fact that I use a mirrorless micro 4/3 system (Olympus OM-D) which is half frame so has a full frame equivalent focal length of 840mm.
I was lucky that the dunnock was very close to me so I could get more pixels on the bird, I'm not usually as lucky as that!

Yes I use a similar setup and find the top handle really helps steady the camera ....

BROKEN LINK

What a shame we can't see your image, especially as my very lovely friend owns it and I've yet to visit :) Haven't heard it mentioned on here and thought it's because it looks to be down a steep grass hill.
