Mr Motorhome - that's great! I reckon there will be at least twice as many funsters in Morocco next year and it will all be your fault for sending such great videos back!:thumb:

Catherine

Dead right there Viennese. We've travelled around Morocco twice by ourselves in the last 10 yrs but you've made it look so much fun together as a group that we might be joining you next yr. happy days:Laughing:

Yes and hopefully that will include us, that's the plan anyway!

How soon can we start the 2015 list?

Relocated at erg Chebbie...

We went in search of the luxury of hotel tombuctoo, finally found it and instantly did not like it after our stay at Sable rose... Moved further up the road and after passing many campsites, some to expensive, some not very nice.. We have stopped at a small Auberge and now 3 vans parked in their small courtyard. Electric from the hotel rooms and indoor toilet facilities... Very nice and negotiated 40dh a night.. :thumb:

Pics etc to follow as just off to local village.....

This is the location is anyone is thinking of coming later on...

Paradise Valley

Just to add to what terry said, I think the best way to see Paradise valley would be for a group to hire a Grand taxi but give the cataracts a miss. Unless you want to see a fight :Smile:

Me and Terry go back a long way....

Well after a full English, toast and marmalade washed down with Twinings everyday tea complete with fresh milk, all consumed outside in beautiful sunshine, we have fasted the rest of the day.

Tonight Suggy's Squad are due to hit the bright lights of Foum Zguid to celebrate Suggy's birthday. However, we will have torches with us just in case the lights go off :Rofl1: We shall be dining al fresco again all being well on a roof terrace overlooking the ancient casbah.

Its a hard life this enjoying yourself in the sun :thumb:

:BigGrin:Yeh, let's see if we can get EVERYONE out here and push the French out!

We're near Essaouria at Camping La Calme - the site just south of the city is absolute rubbish in case anyone is thinking of stopping there.

Regretfully now just getting ready for the long haul back to Tangier-Med.

Thanks again Andrew. :thumb:

I've just shown it to the Lady of The Manor, and her only comment during viewing was, "Bl##dy hell, look at the size of that sausage". :Rofl1:

We both enjoy these wee vids, and send our regards to all, taking part in the productions. :thumb:

Cheers for now,

And proof that they are rubbish dune surfers! :Rofl1:

I particularly liked the toe propelled method! I am surer that will be in the next Olympics.

Hi guys, Just realised today that we have been free members of MH-Fun for some time so after meeting so many of you at Tafroute decided to cough up the ten quid.
So greetings to all we have met so far, we have been coming to Marroc for so many years that this one is just to relax and spend time at our favourite places, Merzouga, Ouazazate and Tafroute so far and a month and a half in. We are a bit incognito as we have a French registered van as we live in France but as we are going clockwise round Marroc rather than down the coast before heading inland have only just met up with the Brits about mid circle.
Good travels to all in Marroc introduce yourselves if you spot our van.
Regards,
Steve & Judy (with the flue brush!!)

p.s. If you are having Fridge Problems with Maroccan gas ask to borrow it..

Just a update on our travels, for the past 3 nights we have been chilling out at Tafroute gosh:Eeek: just looked through the van window and a couple of New Age travellers are juggling with fire sticks. The days here are sunny and warm the evenings because we are in the mountains lovely and cool so it is easy to sleep.

Like Tagazout a guardian area 10 dirums a night (80p) amazing value so much room around you set in a valley with Palm Trees and mountains all around that start off brown in the morning and slowly throughout the day change from shades of Pink to a beautiful red.

The walks around here are endless, Dazzlin / Arnica and others went for a five hour walk today and said it was brilliant., while we said goodbye to some travelling companions and friends CherryPirate.

Every day seems to be different, yesterday we were entertained by Malcolm Bolts ingenious out door shower:BigGrin: I would put some pictures but then Cathrine kill me.

Last night Malcolm Bolt / Cherrypirate and us decided to hit the night life, we wondered into town where we ordered a string of the fluffinest tasty doughnuts ever which we were allowed to take to the cafe opposite order coffee and watch the world Morocan style go by.

We have had musicians playing in the mountains around us, people of every nationality, vans of every conceivable shape and size, and never once for one moment have we felt threatened or in danger of any kind, the only thing we have had from the Morrocan people are smiles and help, and the children asking for a Bon Bon.

Carol, thanks for the update.
If you are still going to be in Tafraoute tomorrow we and Kiwi will be catching up with you.
Currently in Tiznit, about to have a Tajine delivered to our van. We will be setting off about 10:00 so should be arriving about 2pm.
Which road did you take when you got to Tiffermit? The right (long) way to left (short) way? I think others have said the short way is all gravel (it wasn't much better last year)
However the Michelin map makes it look like the long way round is partly piste anyway so not quite sure which way to go.

Stones for miles!!

A WARNING!!!
Anyone travelling from TIZNET to TAFRAOUTE ----on reaching TIFFERNIT--- R104 continues
at junction in town on left. Dont take it, instead take long route south to the right. The ROAD CLOSED sign had fallen over so we (and others) took it and soon found ourselves on 20 kilometers of pure stone (graded underlay). A bit of a nightmare!
We are now at Taliouine right in the middle of town and are the only ones! Its opposite the
Police Station and is GROTTY but bartered down to 40DH with electricity!! The mosque is beside us and noisy with chanting!!
Last night we were in Tarafout at a nice little new site within walking distance of town--GRANITE CAMPSITE.(65DH with Elct)The other sites were full! We are making for Zagora.
Glad everyone is having a good time!
May see someone soon

We took the long way around, it was a beautiful winding but quite manageable, market day on a Monday here, we have a good pitch, loads and loads of space, will look out for you tomorrow.

Water bowser comes around 30dirums fill up, and best bread we have had yet delivered in the mornings 2 dirum, you can also get different types of food delivered to your van.

What was it that you didn't like about Tombuctoo? I've got to admit to not having stayed there, but visited some people staying there for our base at Auberge Oasis - which is right next door to Auberge Lasource where you are now.

I suspect you like us prefer a slightly more rustic / authentic Morocco?

There is a thread going on the Darkside titled "Tonkas Grammar" about a request on terry Wogans show for Tonka sitting outside his van in Morocco.
We do have the occasional pedant posting here but when it comes to pedants the Darkside has us beat hands down.

When you see the option for left (40km) right (60km) go the long way round, you won't regret it I can assure you!

Look forward to meeting with you again.

See previous post somewhere above about Zagora and the camping Palmiers, through town, over the bridge (almost dry river) then turn right up a sand track before the roundabout / junction.... Nice place, quiet when we were there and tell them your a funster 60dh inc electric.... "Hami" will give you a free lift to town and strangly drops you off at his " family shop". A petit taxi back is 5dh each or you can walk easy enough (20mins ish).

Correct.. Pulled in and hated it straight away, never even looked around..
Love it here at La Source, very friendly.. Had a great meal last night for 70dh each.. They are letting us use a bedroom for showers and women state they are " heaven"........ 40dh a night and as you can only get 4 vans here it's like camping funster....

We called at the little bakery for a couple of " hub caps " then a quick scrub up and back to Che Gaga for a bit of a doooo ,

We had a mixture of Kefta , chicken and veggie Tagines , Kefta grills , chicken on skewers and Kens "Road Kill " :Rofl1::Rofl1: all served with moroccan salad and 4 huge portions of fries ,

The Funster Choir, sue baz ken linda ray jo pete elaine and of course rosie even the staff at Che Gaga sang Happy Birthday to suggy

Thanks every one for a great day and all the other funsters that sent me messges ..:thumb:

I'm on my way North now, after a few days in Marrakesh I headed off to Fez. Satnav offered 2 routes, back to the coast, using motorways and toll roads (5hours) or through the Moyen Atlas Mountains (7hours). I thought no problem find somewhere to park up halfway so took the long way. 10 hours of the worst roads ever, many just hardcore and/ gravel with even the Tarmac roads really bad with potholes and bad surfaces. I could find nowhere obvious to stop overnight so eventually arrived at Fez Camping International at about midnight last night.

Not too bad by Maroc standards, having spent a couple of weeks at Taghazoute beach, followed by a night inside Mustapha's garage, a night at the college car park and then the sheer luxury of 3 nights at Ourika Camping Marrakesh, I can cope. Moving on tomorrow to Chefchouen.

Keep on enjoying. See you all soon.

Ps it's just started raining.

Daiboy. Xx
